Hi Everyone,

sorry I feel like I have dropped out of sight here. I do think about you all. I have been trying to find a new place for my dad. He got sick, went to ER room yesterday, passed away at about 7:00 am. Family members and close friends were not able to be there before he passed, it was me and dad. My head feels like a bowl of mush. Everyone deals with grieve differently I know. I have a small family, no sisters or brothers. My cousins and close friends are being very supportive. I am busy doing the things we always need to do related to funeral arrangements.

For my health, I am having radiation done to my left femur bone and pelvic bone, five treatments, three more to go next week. After that doctor wants my body to rest for two weeks, then she is suggesting I try Capecitabine. This will be my fourth kind of treatment. She is concerned and of course, so am I.

Continued prayers needed for myself and family.

I am so very sorry for your loss. So much for you to go through on your own while having your radiation treatments. That alone is enough to wipe a person out. Sending you a hug and hope that your cousins can help you at this time. Don’t be scared to reach out to them for help. ❤️

Thank you so much Sarcie! My cousins are going to go to the funeral, and one can probably hang out with me, for other things. My kids are supportive, they feel helpless about what to do, which is normal.

I am so sorry for your loss. My sincere condolences to you and your family. I feel it is very unfair what you’re going through with loss of your dad and your health. But please be strong and take one day at a time. I send you a virtual hugs and lots of love

Susie - please accept my very sincere sympathy. I know how devoted you were to your father and respect your love for him. You were a wonderful daughter and did your very best. Please take comfort in knowing that you were a great comfort to him.

I share your concern after all this emotional upheaval. You are entitled to feel like your brain is mush. Please know we are here to listen and support you.

Yes, please listen to Sandra’s kind suggestion to let others help share the load. Back when I had my daughter, my sister’s great advice was: If people offer to help, say yes! It takes a village to raise a child as the saying goes. This is still great advice for all sorts of phases in life.

Your loved ones are looking for ideas how to help — running errands, preparing dinner, groceries, driving you to an appointment. Ask one of your kids to coordinate for everyone who wants to pitch in. God bless you.

I haven’t gotten to know you well yet, but send my sympathy and caring wishes for strength to get through this time. When the things you have to do diminish, please take time to mourn and rest your body. When my dad died it wasn’t until 2 weeks later that I realized that I had not sat still and mourned, and I needed to take time for myself and do that. Hugs. Elaine

Dearest Susie!

So very sad to read your news. I lost my mom in August (died on her 96th birthday) so truly relate to the grief at losing a parent. All of this, plus the MBC, can feel so overwhelming.

Please know you are in my heart and prayers as you navigate through the fog. God bless you. Linda

Susie, So much to shoulder. My deepest sympathy for the loss of your father. I'm sure the small size of your family made your relationship with him even closer. Know your presence was comforting to him, and I hope that brings you some solace.

You must be completely overwhelmed right now. Be kind to yourself, and best of luck on the new treatment plan.

Hello Susie, I also am very sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I am going through that right now myself as my mother is in hospice and expected to be passing soon. Right now I am on hold with regard to my next treatment until we receive the results back from the genomics clinic probably in a couple of weeks. And then I have to get a mastectomy early March. So I guess all things considered I am grateful that this did not happen around my surgery date. At least I will have a chance to process my grief so to speak before the craziness starts. Anyway I hope your next regimen works for you and again my condolences for your loss.

So sorry Susie

My dad died just before my initial diagnosis and I had the mastectomy a few weeks after his funeral...I never told my mum about my cancer

That was one of the toughest times of my life and my kids were only little

I found I couldn’t listen to classical music for quite a while or I would just start weeping...so maybe avoid that

Good luck with your radiotherapy...you may feel fatigued so rest, listen to your body and think of happy times with your dad

Love Barb xx

So glad you’re getting support from other family members xx Hopefully the down time after rads will give you a chance to start processing your dad’s passing. Sending comfort and healing vibes

Sister/warrior/over-comer I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your dad, especially as you are trying to navigate your own health challenges. I pray your children, and loved ones will know exactly what to do to support you. Do ask all of your loved ones to do some tasks. that you know they are capable of. If 30 loved ones help with specific task it can take a tremendous burden off of you. I wish we could be there to help you, but the God we serve will get you through this most challenging time. God bless you for all you did to support your dad, but don't forget to give yourself some much needed TLC. I pray you will have an amazing celebration of your dads life, and in God's timing you will have health, peace, and joy. XoXoXoXoXoX
