As many are aware, the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) 2020 was held virtually this year. There were several presentations about promising treatments for people with MBC, which are presented in my conference recap.
Two of the most encouraging drugs are Tesetaxel, an oral version of intravenous chemotherapy taxanes for which a New Drug Application is expected to be submitted this year, and the oral immunotherapy drug Eganelisib that is being studied among TNBC MBC patients with promising results!
Information from the SABCS 2020 recap has been incorporated in a comprehensive paperback and eBook entitled, “The Insider’s Guide to Metastatic Breast Cancer,” which is also available as a complimentary .pdf. The Guide includes material about approved MBC therapies in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia, symptom and side effect mitigation, cutting-edge research, and more. If you like the way the SABCS information is presented and want to start the New Year armed with science-based MBC information, please visit insidersguidembc.com/
Rhwright12, if you haven't already done so, might I ask you to write a review on Amazon if you're so inclined? There is absolutely no obligation to do so! With appreciation, Anne
thank you! SABCS is on my "get to" list. this post eliminates my search though the SHARE Cancer Support and Living Beyond Breast Cancer emails, for the content.
Flower, thank you! Too often when patients are offered information, it's in the original, long, and somewhat difficult-to-understand format. I think the well-intended people who forward the material do not fully understand that patients are tired, may have cognitive issues, suffer pain, etc. - all of which make it challenging to sit through an hour-long presentation or multi-page scientific article in the hopes of gleaning kernels of useful information. I try to spare us from that effort! : )
Yessss Sister/warrior I thank you for this important information, especially for the sister/warrior's diagnosed with TNBC. My girlfriend who passed away 2 months ago was asked a year ago to take a similar drug that was in another trial phase. This drug was a cousin of the Immuno-therapy drug Eganelsib. She refused taking it, because there wasn't any information on it. at the time. After having 3 recurrences of cancer in a 7 year period. my warrior/sister/friend went to Heaven due to Covid -19, and I am sure this stage IV last cancer diagnosis didn't help. I do thank GOD that she didn't have long suffering. May GOD bless us all amen! XoXo
So sorry for the loss of your friend, and hoping there will be an ever-increasing amount of options for those with TNBC and other MBC subtypes. Best wishes to you for a good year!
Thank you. I spoke to her daughter today. She is still having a difficult time, especially during the 2020-2021 holiday season. I am glad I got to experience some funny moments as we talked.
