Woke up yesterday to feeling dizzy and had now balance, couldn't walk or sit without falling over, but needed toilet crawled into bathroom fell over banged my head now I'm stuck couldn't move anywhere, partner rang ambulance they decide looks like I've had a stroke I said it's just because I took too many epilepsy meds last night, they rushed me into hospital Stroke doc and nurses waiting for me to arrive I felt like royalty lol. Had ct scan which was clear, was worried in case cancer was in brain but scan was clear, got to have mri scan to be done next, he gave me a diagnosis of mini stroke I disagreed with doc, said it's just tablets he said you maybe let's do mri, so waiting for mri and on blood thinning drugs that's going to be good with chemo, some to lower cholesterol what a day

Mini stroke
Oh my god!!! That must have been incredibly frightening!! I can only imagine! I'm so glad that you were able to get quick (and royal!) treatment and also that your brain looks clear re: cancer!
I do hope that it was "just" the meds that caused it, I feel just awful for folks who are battling other serious health issues along with the cancer.
Wishing you the best with it all...Feel better!
Lynn
Thank you, yes epilepsy and cancer are more than enough dont need anymore diseases. Back to normal today.
Hi Tracey,
I am glad to hear you were quickly taken to hospital and that you are doing better. What a frightening experience this must have been for you. I hope you are right and that you didn't have a stroke. As if this cancer isn't bad enough! Please take care and let the doctors and nurses pamper you. You deserve it.
Sophie
Thanks Sophie I came home the same day had a relaxing day, now got diarrhoea and cant find tablets onc gave me
You must be so relieved that you are back home again, Tracey. There's nothing quite like being in your own home with your own things about you. I hope you find the tablets your oncologist gave you. Were they for the diarrhoea? Maybe you can get your GP to write you a prescription if you can't find them.
Sophie
Yes they were for diarrhoea but seems to have stopped now, will ask onc at my app later this month
Hopefully that’s all it was-too many pills. Scarey though. Good luck with it- let us know how you are doing🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️
Glad you’re back to normal today. Please take it easy. Wishing you continued improvement.
That’s bad news and really hope you are feeling more relaxed now you have had medical attention. Keep us updated and hope all goes well.
Cheryl
What alot to go thru. I have MBC. Dx2018. Iam 61. Have 2 daughters 39 and 33. Hope you feeling better. Birdi
Sorry to hear this Kiera! Having a stroke would be scary. Hope this gets resolved soon, take care.
Gosh, what a scary situation you found yourself in but I’m pleased you got immediate treatment.
It is a good reminder to us all to use the emergency services when we really need them. We are lucky in the UK to have such dedicated and amazing first responders. I’ve not actually used them myself but feel comforted to know they are there.
Your husband made the right call.
Take care and hope you are feeling better. x
I know how frightening all this can be. My wife, who has MBC, had a stroke a few months ago. Woke up in the morning and couldn't speak properly. Although no one has admitted it, I think one of her cancer medications may have contributed to it since it warns of a risk of causing blood clots. Fortunately, her MRI showed no disease progression in her brain. She still has expressive aphasia but the main problem is post-stroke fatigue on top of the fatigue caused by her meds. Hope you feel better soon.
Oh no that's not good as MBC is difficult to cope with, we don't need other conditions too, wishing your wife all the best. Tracey xx
Has she been able to have speech therapy? My dad had a huge stroke that gave him expressive aphasia. Speech therapy was started in the hospital and continued at home and it helped some. He could say yes and no reliably and could call for assistance when he needed it. Strokes can be devastating! I can't imagine having to deal with that as well as mbc! You are a good husband!
Thank you for your thoughts. Yes, she was under a speech therapist for awhile but her tiredness seems to have stopped any further progress. She can usually make herself understood, even if it is like playing a game of 20 questions sometimes!
So glad you are feeling better, hope it will continue to be that way!!
So sorry to hear this. Whatever the cause it is a harrowing experience! Hope you can enjoy the tic and feel better soon!
Tracey! How scary! So glad it wasn't more serious and you're back home. Take it easy this weekend! Andi
Kiera,
Hope you are on the mending road and stay there. Best wishes and prayers. Blessings, Hannah
You certainly have enough to deal with! I join the others here who hope that it was because of your meds. It's good that you and your partner knew to get you medical attention immediately! I'm glad you weren't alone! Sending love and prayers, Pam
Praying u feel better quick! 🙏💕
Thank you everyone for your well wishes having a relaxing day
Hope you're feeling much better, take care, what a scare! X

What a day you had. Sounds like you handled it all in your stride though. So pleased your results were clear initially. Hope you continue to feel back to your normal self.
