I posted here a few weeks ago when my mother was having some major memory loss, physical functionality issues, and confusion... (healthunlocked.com/share-me...
well, we ended up admitting her to the hospital for a few nights so they could monitor her.
We found out that the metastatic breast cancer tumor that is in her liver, is preventing her liver from processing proteins correctly, so, her ammonia levels in her blood keep fluctuating, essentially making her “drunk” (her body is intoxicated from the ammonia levels.)
So, we were sent home with a prescription for Lactulose in order to help her, ahem, eliminate the excess protein, so her liver can function semi-normally.
We saw her oncologist the next week, and now were struggling with getting her Ibrance prescription filled, but they were able to go ahead with her second Fulvestrant shot.

Does anyone have any experience with the Lactulose method? Is there anything else we can try? She’s having a hard time defecating twice a day like she’s supposed to, and I noticed today that she was a bit loopy.
