The doc had an mri done on my left leg, femur bone and an ex Ray done. She will be out of her office until December 30, I hope to hear the results before then.
I love Christmas, hope everyone can be with family and friends at this time. We can look up, not lose hope.
I'll let you know what the doc's plan is, when I know it.
Take care, stay warm
Hugs and prayers,
Sue

Merry Christmas! Both places that I have had scans done give u the results within 24 hours...just ask when u have scans done where and when u can pick up your disc and written report the next day...😀 I don’t like surprises! I want to thoroughly research what’s next...and ask here! 😂🤣😂
Great idea. I guess they’re “our” records; but always thought doc had to review them with you before they’d release scan. Is it that simple to just ask or did it take convincing someone or talking to doc or higher up at scan facility? Thx happy holidays
No hoops! Just ask...I even signed to have my mom pick them up the next day since I work...Some places have a patient portal to access online...but in any case yes u have rights to your results within 24 hours. The days of the doctors have to see them first are long gone...however I’m not thinking they would move up your appointment based on results. It would just give u time to review next steps and possible new drugs combos before seeing the Onc. Merry Christmas! 🎄
Worse part of stage 4 for me so far is awaiting results of scans. Diversion helps. Do whatever you can to pass the time. Make a bucket list of “me-time hints:
Hair, nails, antiquing, movies, museums, comedy (one of my favs), calling old friends (sometimes therapeutic to hear others trials and tribulations as it takes your mind of your own—@ leads for the moment). There’s lotsa free-stuff to do also:
Book club, meetups (there’s an APP for that), chess club, beachcombing, hiking (or depending on weather—u could walk at an indoor mall; sometimes there’s a club or a mall will open an hour early for “walkers”, go to lunch or invite someone over for tea...with elder or even any aged person for that matter, spend time at local library, if you enjoy swimming—I you may local YWCA or YMCA mayhave program for breast cancer called ENCORE or even a local hotel may have it. Endless things...just done ideas. Journal writing, also. Also can often get passes from local library to enter museums local attractions free or discounted. Play tourist in ur own town or nearest city. Attend lecture at local community college. Craft class. Key is to just keep busy. Soon you’ll have answer and a plan & this waiting will be over until the next time unfortunately. Another poster has best outlook about awaiting her results; though I cannot remember exactly, but she is not bothered at all awaiting as she figures it does not change a thing—so she basically hopes for the best expects the worst, I guess is how she explains it; doesn’t work for me I’m a wreck and sleep extra and try to schedule lotsa activities to pass the time (I take my Ativan n ambien to help too).
Please hang in there & know we’re all going and praying for TGE best results for you.
I liked what someone here said about how it is easier if you think of the scan as just another tool to help you and your doctor decide what the best treatment is. And my friend the surgeon agreed with me when I said that in the “old days” they often had to do surgery to find out what was going on with our metasises (sp?)... scans are SO MUCH easier!
