Hello everyone. May I ask what your experience is when stopping Ibrance because of fever 38.4C with cough and cold? I’m finished my 11th day so have 10 more capsules to take. Will I continue this after my fever is gone or will I just wait and finish the 28 day cycle and start anew?
Sorry I have to ask you but my oncologist here in the Philippines is also in the dark because Ibrance is not available here. I source mine from Malaysia. Last time this happened, I had only 3 capsules to go so we just waited till the next cycle. This time I have 10 more to go.

Hi I had bad cough on cold and mild flu symptoms although no fever contacted my onc as I had 7 days of ibrance to go, my onc told me to carry on with them
Ibrance can cause very serious lung problems, even death, so I'd be careful about that cough and see a pulmonologist if possible for lung function tests before going back on Ibrance. A few months ago, here in the US, the FDA started requiring that drug companies start using a black or red box warning, which ever is the highest level of warning, with Ibrance and other targeted bc drugs about the potential for serious lung damage. I'm one of the supposed rare people who had this happen and now I ahve what appears to be permanent lung damage and have to use two different inhalers every day and still have trouble when the air is humid.
Thanks for the warning. I do have lung fibrosis caused by radiation but I don’t know if Ibrance is making it worse. Last scan showed it hasn’t changed but I hope this coughing episode doesn’t make it worse.
Hi Maria. I had a similar experience. My oncologist had me discontinue the Ibrance and take a 7 day dose of antibiotics and then when my cough and fever was gone she had me resume my Ibrance. Good luck and I hope you feel better.
Thanks so much. I do feel better as the antibiotics are working and my fever didn’t last a day so I have continued with Ibrance. I still have a cough though which I hope to be rid of before Christmas.
