Hi! I'm new on here and very excited to have people to talk too! I was diagnosed in November with MBC after 7 years. I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation about hair coloring while taking ibrance. My hair has started thining after the 4th cycle.

Coloring hair while taking ibrance
Hello! Great question! I was also diagnosed with MBC in November, 17 years after original BC diagnosis. My hair has thinned as well. I did have my hair foiled once since diagnosis but have started to wonder about the effect on follicles since the Ibrance protocol does lead to hair loss. I have started to wash my hair less often and use a great wet hair brush: amazon.com/gp/product/B01BE...
Good luck and God bless you! Linda XO
Hi. I too was dx in November stage 4 after a stage one dx 5 years earlier. Six months into IBRANCE and Letrozole.
My hair has thinned but nothing horrible. It does seem a little more coarse and very very dry. I do color it with no issues.
Best wishes to you!
I was diagnosed with stage 4 mbc in 2016. My hair has thinned a lot,) lucky I had very thick hair. I try not to wash my hair more than 3 times a month. But even at 72 I will not go out with my roots growing in. I use a over the counter hair color about every 6weeks. I don't think it is making it any worse. But I sure feel better when it looks good. I also got a shorter hair cut chin length with layers. Makes it look fuller. When I ask my doctor about Botox or hair she always says. Barbara, do what ever you need for a good quality of life. So I guess if we look good we will feel better. These thing are sure not going to kill us.
I forgot to ask. Are you also on letrozole? I was on letrozole and Ibrance for 18 mo. Then letrozole stopped working. I am now on Faslodex and Ibrance. But I have noticed my hair is not falling out as much. And it seems to be growing in length all of a sudden. I had not needed a hair trim for 4 months and all of a sudden it was getting longer. Maybe I am crazy, and it just wishful thinking. By the way welcome to the group, and you can ask all sorts of crazy things and someone will answer you. HAHA we just like to talk.
I do take letrozole as well. I wondered if that was thining my hair as well. I'm trying not to wash it as much. I'm 46 but my hair went completely gray with the chemo in 2010. Im going to keep coloring it maybe not as often. Thanks for the help!
Thank you all for the replies to the above question.
I had very fine hair which I lost on chemo, it came back possibly even finer and since starting this treatment has not only thinned but almost only grey hair left... My son in law a hairdresser suggested I had some colour treatment( foils) to perhaps make it look like it has
more body.
This site is terrific and I have learned more here than in the Oncologists office! I am also using a caffein hair product suggested by someone.early days for me to report on that.
Good luck and love to all.
