Hi. Just wondering if anyone found CBD oil helpful. Thanks.

CBD oil
Marianne - you didn’t mention what you would use it for so I’m unsure if my answer will help. I use very low THC CBD oil to help me sleep occasionally and when I’m feeling especially anxious. I find it helpful and would recommend it. I’ve never liked the high sensation from weed, so this kind of dosage works for me. I use the tincture to place a few drops under my tongue. I start to notice some relief in 20-30 minutes. Others on this board use CBD and will have good ideas for you too.
Hi Marianne
I’ve tried this for pain relief but it didn’t help me much I’m afraid and it’s an unnecessary expense for no relief but lots of ladies praise it...depends what your expectations are

I've read that CBD oil can have the same effects as grapefruit and we should be careful if taking other meds that warn against grapefruit, such as Ibrance. I'm still researching and don't totally understand it all yet. There may be dosages that are ok. There is a Facebook page about treating breast cancer with cannabis that is helpful.
Olivia newton john uses home grown cannabis all the time...don’t know what meds she takes though
The COC clinic in London recommended it to me and I’m on Ibrance
I think you’ll be fine...lots of misinformation out there to confuse us!!!

My onc was okay with using it. I'm on Faslodex, Arimodex and Xgeva. I used a cream for my sore knees and the pain went away. Was it the oil? Hard to know. But it did go away.
initial diagnosis Oct 2011. metastatic diagnosis July 2015; Ibrance 75mg, Anastrozole 1mg, Lupron injection quarterly.
use a myriad of forms of ("legal/" medical) CBD and CBD-THC starting in Aug 2015. all the doctors on 'my' team (CA & FLA) know i have a license for use.
I love my excellent quality CBD for spine discomfort. Mine is not hemp but real terpenes.
With that said , for cancer control and working against it, one needs both CBD and THC. THC is really the one to kill cancer cells and I believe you have to take twice daily. Right now I am NED so I have not gotten on that band wagon but am investigating for medical marijuana in the future
It had no effect on me - just a lot of money that could be spent on something else. I also bought the upgraded version from Hempworx. My oncologist didn't have an opinion either way.
It helped me when I first started treatment
and was in terrible pain. I took drops
Under the tongue
As someone mentioned in a previous reply, cannabidiol or CBD oil is an inhibitor of a couple of the most common drug metabolizing enzymes. They’re called CYP 2D6 and 3A4. I know for a fact ibrance and afinitor are two breast cancer drugs that are metabolized/broken down by those enzymes. (They are most definitely not the only two cancer medications metabolized by them)
So this all boils down to the following: if you take anything that inhibits those enzymes, you can greatly increase the amount of the drug that is broken down by those enzymes (ibrance, afinitor, etc.) in your system.. which in turn increases the potentially harmful side effects of these cancer medications.
Please speak with a pharmacist from your cancer center if at all possible from your cancer center. They are expected to be cancer medication experts.
I am also a pharmacist and sometimes doctors may tell you something about a medication is okay, but they can be wrong. Pharmacists specialize in studying medications/treatments, and are the best resource for OTC supplement and drug-related questions.
Your oncologist is the best resource for disease-related questions.
I used it for about 6 months. Mine had minute quantity of thc. It helped with joint pain and I think it helped me relax a little bit no miracles.
