Wondering if anyone uses a probiotic? I’m in Ibrance and leterzol and find I feel so much better after a meal, so thought a probiotic might help absorb food and keep my energy a bit more even - thanks x

I use Dr Ohiras probiotic. Kris Carr recommends it. Since so much of our immune system is in the gut, has to be a benefit

Yes she is. There were times in the first few years when I felt sheet panic and depression. She was one of the resources that kept me going. She and Pema Chodron. And SHARE. I was a mess😱

Hi,

I normally drink a serving (200ml) of kombucha each day. Or I will eat sauerkraut or kimchi, which is also good for the gut. My favourite is kombucha though. I don't like to add another pill if I can help it, which is why I go for the food or drink instead.

I have sauerkraut with my salad everyday. I am also trying not to add another pill xx

Hi Eva,

That's a good way of getting your probiotics. I sometimes eat sauerkraut with a salad too.

Where do you buy the kombucha? Is it a tea, I agree about extra pills! Take enough as it is x

Hi,

I buy my kombucha from a local US Air Force base, but you can also get it at Holland & Barrett or another health food shop. It's a cold fermented tea and it comes in a variety of different flavours. It isn't to everyone's taste, so you might want to shop around or try something else if you don't like it.

Most of the side effects I've had on Ibrance/letrozole are GI related. I've found that a daily magnesium supplement to be very helpful. I had fairly severe intestinal pain and occasional bouts of constipation, and diarrhea. The magnesium really makes a huge difference. I have a friend who also has stomach issues due to medication, and she also takes it. It's cheap and readily available; I buy mine at Target. It's worth a try.

I used to take probiotics supplements for years until this past May. I went to one of the top ten cancer hospitals in the US and the oncologist told me to stop taking probiotics because they can effect cancer growth. I stopped taking them. I eat yogurt & take magnesium instead. ❤️🙏❤️

I've been told to take magnesium and pre and probiotics. As mentioned above, the latest research is showing that the gut is the brain of the body. We have to keep that up to speed to help regulate our systems.

Great way of describing it thank you , been reading a great book on low inflammatory diet. It’s aimed at menopause- I’ve had mine started with injections- but it’s really good read

Greetings Sister/warrior I take a probiotic/prebiotic capsule daily since dairy, and fermented food is not good for my bloodtype/ biochemistry. Your stomach holds 69 % of your immune system. If you take an antibiotic it will kill off all of the bad bacteria, and the good bacteria also. My sister just had two rounds of antibiotics after her surgery because her good bacteria was gone after the first round of preventive antibiotics. God bless you XoXoXo

I take a probiotic and really feels it makes a difference.

Morning Sandra,

Kombucha is popular here too. It used to be carried in my local supermarkets, which was great! But for some reason they stopped selling it, so now I have to buy mine from elsewhere. It isn't for everyone.
