Pectoral Axilla Lymph Nodes

Hello good people of the forum! Please can anyone tell me if this sounds familiar? I’ve had tenderness in my pectoral lymph node area (right side) 4-5 yrs after a mastectomy and lymph node clearance left side. Had rib twinges too on/off (though also had Costochondritis). After finding the 4-5 lymph nodes (bumpy to feel) after stretching my skin, and realising I first reported tenderness there to my doc back in May, I’m expecting to be diagnosed with metastasis bone. Chest X-ray and mammogram came back clear but awaiting CT results. Anyone experienced soreness in just the front pectoral lymph node area? Thank you x

Sorry that I cannot answer your question, but all I can say is not to jump the gun and assume you have bone mets. The CT scan should be able to tell whether or not you have mets to the bones. Don't stress yourself. Sometimes soreness is just that soreness. I have a friend who had stage ii and has a double mastectomy and lymph node removal three years ago and still has soreness in that area and does not have any mets. I have a good feeling you will find it is not bone mets.

Thank you for your kind reply Kearman. I requested a call back from the locum GP today to ask for sleeping tablets as anxiety was preventing me from sleeping. He did as I asked them rang me back to say my CT scan had come back as clear!!! I had to ask him to double check the date on the scan and it was indeed Friday’s. I’m still suspicious over my lymph area but will show my oncologist on Thursday. Most important thing though is that no cancer was detected. I would have kissed that doctor were he in the room with me!!! Thank you again for your support and I’m so glad your friend is still in remission! xx

She was not stage iv. She did the whole chemo, radiation and mastectomy thing and now is taking anastrozole for 10 years. (They used to do five but I guess now with seeing that women get it back anyway, they upped it to 10.) So far so good. I never ever worry about CT scans. First off stress makes your body more messed up and it is what it is. Worrying is not going to change anything. Sometimes a headache is just a headache and some joint pain is just some pain. Not everything we feel is related to the cancer. For some, it's hard for me it is not. I can't change the outcome so what is the point of worrying. I just found out that my latest CT scan (mine is in my lungs) shows two spots on my spine but my onco said we will keep an eye on it and will see what, if anything, happens with my next three month scan. I never worry because what is the point. It is not going to change anything and that is wasting time when you should be relaxing and enjoying life as much as you can now and live in the present.
