Hello everyone. I have a cold and when I blow my nose, the mucus is clear. I also am coughing and there is phlegm when I cough which is yellow greenish and thick. I have no fever though so I am not on antibiotics yet. I would like to ask anyone who has been in this situation if you discontinued Ibrance. Last time I had to discontinue Ibrance was when I had fever with bronchitis and was prescribed Zithromax. Questions:
1) Considering that I have low wbc, is it advisable to take antibiotic for my yellow greenish phlegm even though I have no fever? Or should I just rest and drink lots of fluid?
2) I’m only on my 6th day of Ibrance of the 21 day cycle. If I stop taking it today and feel better after a week, do I continue taking it and continue the present cycle or stay off it until after the 28th day?
3) Can one be taking antibiotics and continue Ibrance?
I need your advice on this because I am the only patient my oncologist has who is on Ibrance. Since Ibrance is not yet available here (Kisqali is), he is learning from my experiences. He did tell me to discontinue Ibrance when I had a 38 degree Celsius fever. Thanks all.

I currently have bronchitis and I was told by my onc that I should go off ibrance until I'm finished with my course of antibiotics. At that time I should call my onc team for instructions as to what to do.I was on day 12 of ibrance. The last time I had a bad cold and was taken off ibrance I was told that when I resumed ibrance I was to start from whatever day in the cycle I was at and not make up any days that I had missed.
Hi My miracle, I have had colds twice ,coloured phlegm, runny nose but no temperature. I was given a broad base antibiotic and continued with palbo and letrozole at the same time....doctors not worried. I am now on 100 palbo because my neutrophils were consistently too low. Hope that helps, cheers, Fay
I had sinus infections twice and took antibiotics and continued ibrance. The second one happened on the off days- back on antibiotic but waited to restart ibrance myself and told doc needed to feel rid of it before restarting. He was ok with that. Definitely stay in touch with onc. You may need antibiotic. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️♥️😘frances
Thanks Frances. My onc took me off Ibrance when I had fever on a previous respiratory ailment. I will talk to him and if he prescribes me antibiotics, I will ask if I can continue with Ibrance seeing as some of you have taken both Ibrance and antibiotics at the same time.
Hello-I had bronchitis a few months ago. At the time I had no fever but the cough with mucus was awful. My stomach was so sore from coughing that I could hardly cough it up. My onc gave me antibiotics but never stopped the the Ibrance. It took over three weeks for it to pass. I hope you get over it without too much discomfort. Drink lots of fluids and see what your dr tells you.
