Confused...

CT and bone scans were done last Monday that showed "no evidence of progression" but had lymph nodes removed on Thursday that turned out to be the same cancer. Has anyone had this as well? Original diagnosis was breast cancer with three small bone mets. Sorry to ask - very new to this all.

Sorry to hear this. I welcome you to a great bunch of women warriors. I have written a lot lately on scans and confusion. There are no easy answers to it. You will find mbc is a roller coaster ride and we share here about our own experiences support each other through good and down times. Please update us on this. Scans can miss things. I am sorry you are going through this bump in the road. Have they talked treatment? How many lymphs were taken? My first round with Bc the scans showed only ducts carcinoma in situation in 2009. When the surgery was done a day later 13 nodes were taken out only one node was positive-left sentinel node. Stage 2. Did femara for seven years- mbc found sept 2016.

There are good treatments now with hope to live a long time with it. Have faith, one day at a time.

Thank you Frances! I completely agree! I very much admire everyone's strength, faith and support. So far the oncologist wants to stay the course... Ibrance, Letrozole and Xgeva since they feel everything is working. 3 lymph nodes were taken. The first diagnosis came in August - stage 4 with nothing prior to that. Tumor markers went from 350 - 180 - 130 - 80 - 84 - 89. Are there any books you would suggest? It's so hard to find which information is accurate.

You are doing well then. The drops in markers say a lot. As far as reading, I don’t know honestly. Many women share in the posts what they read. I google a lot. Read medical studies and articles. Post a question here and the rest can share what they read. 💕💕💕

Frances is right. This certainly is a rollercoaster ride.

It is confusing and scary. Have faith in your onc. Ask alot of questions and post here. I have found amazing support and encouragement from the wonderful women on this site. I don't know what I would do without them.

They understand what it is to have mbc!

I find that most people don't get all that is involved woth this dx!
