My labs and scans are perfect. I have been asking my doctor about stopping them. He said to me that we will see in the future about stopping them. What about you? I have met bones.
Thank you !!

I mean the medicines. I can not have them any more. I take daily IBRANCE, femara, calcium, a vitamin for hair. Monthly X-GEWA and every three months LEUPROL. I AM GETTING TIRED πππππ
I hear you when you say you are so tired of taking the medications. You just want to be free of them. Iβve been taking antidepressants on and off for about 45 years. I would so much like not to have to take that Wellbutrin pill every single morning! I want to be all better!
Is there someone like a therapist you can talk to about your frustration and sadness?
Why would you want to stop medicine that's keeping your cancer in check? My understanding is that MBC is not curable, but is manageable. The drugs are managing your disease and keeping it from spreading. Ibrance/letrozole is not a cure - just the agent that keeps the disease from progressing.
I have been on these drugs for 14 months and tumors have reduced in size and bone mets (I'm also taking Xgeva shots quarterly) are stable. If you're having difficulty with side effects, have you thought about reducing your dosage? I started on 125mg, reduced to 100 and after 3 months at the lower dose, my scans are still good. I will be reducing to 75mg starting next month.
Interesting to consider stopping in the light of that study suggesting that a break from the meds might renew their efficacy if you were to resume later. I don't think there's conclusive evidence but it's an encouraging idea x
I do understand how you feel about your medication but they are what keeps us alive. My onc did stop my ibrance but im still taking my monthly shot, im bone only. I hv read where people hv stopped their medications at a 5 yr mark and doing extremely well.
