Mets are back.....
I’m so sorry to hear this😔 Can I ask if you were still on treatment when they said you had no active disease (remission)? I just had a scan so don’t know if it’s spread anywhere but had scans yesterday and of course worried as we all are. I can tell you that Faslodex inj. And Ibrance has kept my bone Mets at bay for a year and 2 months so far. Dropped my tumor markers from CA 15-3 test from 228 down to 24 now which is supposed to be normal. But I did have radiation to my bone Mets because I couldn’t walk anymore with the tomato sized tumor on my left hip (iliac Crest) I can walk now so hoping the radiation helped!
Has your Onco discussed any new treatment with you yet?
Praying for you warrior sister🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Take a deep breath! I was on Letrozole and Ibrance and Xgeva for 9 months. Had great results. Bone Mets gone! Liver lesion still there, as well as breast tumor, but much smaller. Then boom. Tumor markers started creeping up. Scan showed progression of liver mets and bone mets were back. I was put on Faslodex injection 4 months ago. Uncomfortable shot but appears to be working. Still taking Ibrance and Xgeva shot quarterly. On a positive note I went to a lecture last week. Dr. Larry Norton from Sloane Kettering was the speaker. Very promising what he shared. Lots of trials for mbc are going on. Keep the faith ladies. More treatments and combinations are coming down the pipeline. Of course not as fast as we would like. This cancer is darn sneaky and tricky. Hang in there. FAITH
Hi Have-Faith...I was at that seminar last week!!!
Was impressed with Dr. Norton! I’m thinking of having a consult with him. Wow so you live in NY..would be great to meet you!
Hi there! I would enjoy meeting you too! I am in New York for work. I live in the burbs. I am glad you enjoyed Larry Norton's lecture too. I bet he has many requests from his audiences. SHARE has a great talk coming up in the office location on March 28. It is based on a book called Radical Remission. I planned to go and now am going out of town that evening. I would enjoy meeting you one evening after work. Can you message me your contact info?
Read an article last week from Dana Farber Cancer Institute about how it may be possible ti restart Ibrance after an apparent regression. The body readjusts after a few weeks off, and the Ibrance works again. I believe someone posted a link to this article last week.
