Prayers Answered!

I was completely discouraged and ready to transfer to another Oncologist-again (on my 2nd doctor now) due to their poor additides and lack of information and being treated like I was doomed). So, I prayed allot, did allot of research and went with my sister in law (she was involved in my brothers treatment for cancer for 30 years). Turns out that Medicare is requiring newer more intensive care of all the effects of cancer! I now have my own personal nurse advocate practitioner who will be part of my treatment plan - who I can call anytime I have a concern, I have a therapist to see as often as I need, they expect to cure me, not just keep me stable, the whole additude changed in the care! I also learned that my Oncologist is known for keeping up to date on the latest cancer treatments and possible cures! I gave my Oncologist the updates on treatment with a lower dosage of Ibrance and he had just read the article as well. We lowered my dosage and I'll go for my first follow up scan in April to see how my 3 months of treatment has worked. So far, I feel so much better physically and mentally! One thing that did make me mad - the hospital where I had my first PET Scan refused to release it to my Oncologist because he is not affiliated with them. After 2 months treatment, my Oncologist had never seen my scan or MRI - only the written report. And no one told me until I asked to see the scan personally! Ridiculous! So my sister in law drove me straight to the hospital to get my scan and MRI. Why no one mentioned this before now is a mystery! But I let all concerned know that I won't tolerate this happening again. On a positive note, the care is 100% better and I was told they will send me to a specialized treatment facility upstate if i want or need to go (they have a newly installed proton laser to treat cancer tumors). All good news!

I do have MBC. And my Oncologist does believe we will have a cure. He said there are literally new treatments every day and we talked about the Israeli scientists among other. The new vaccine they are testing now actually kills only cancer cells with no side effects and it continues to find cancer and kill it! So amazing! Keep the faith!

Praise God! That IS a good report and knowledge I needed coz I just went on medicare March 1st and haven't seen the oncologist since January, so nice to know about the advocate and medicare actually caring about side-effects etc! I am only taking Letrozole and nice to know about the ibrance lesser dosage. They always give us females too much; I read years ago that pill strength was always figured for a 200 lb. man, or something like that, indeed! Thank you for sharing. I am going to try this; over 1,000 said they had relief with it on walmart . com so I will be posting and letting you all know if it helps me as I have painful back and rotator cuff injury, so it would have to be a very powerful placebo to change things in these ol' bones LOL. All glory to God in the highest, and peace, goodwill and health to all women and men, amen! <3 link is below for what I'm going to try; key ingredient BORON; I've been hearing an awful lot about it lately. Anyone already tried this? over 1,113 reviews and almost 1,000 4 and 5 stars. oh and it's on sale. I am NOT affiliated in anyway with walmart. walmart.com/ip/Move-Free-Ul...

What great news! I am so happy for you to find this competent care which you so much need.. You almost persuade me to go with conventional medicine. I had no idea such good care is out there. May God continue to heal you and answer your prayers.

Also, I just heard on the news the other day that when ibrance stops working; they said to lay off of it for 42 days, don't quote me on that time frame but look up the study, and the cells respond again to the medicine. YAY ... can we say BREAKTHROUGH! Thank you Jesus, you always make a way for us to get through it all ... you never said it would be easy, you said we would be OVERCOMERS!

Good for you. I think we have to be our own advocates and if you are like me I have had to learn to stick up for myself and not put up with inadequate care. It's our life and we are in charge of it!!!
