I took Ibrance for 2 yrs. It says to take with food after breakfast. Maybe try taking in the morning. But I did have heartburn when I was on it anyway.

Well I take it at nite because I work full time, and if it is going to fatigue me I would rather it be at nite. So far its been working, but have noticed on this round the heartburn. It has affected my appetite also, so I will try to take after dinner with lots of water and see if that helps.

I hear you! But yes food may help. I am off it now. I am on Afinitor, now that you mention I have not had heartburn since. But from the new drug very low potassium, needed script for it. No appetite, headache tired mouth sore. I guess all meds have side effects . But I will put up with if it helps me lower my tumor markers. Hope you feel better😉

Thank you, I too am hoping the tumor markers are dropping. Good luck to you

I get nausea and sometimes heartburn if I take it before bed without enough food in my stomach. I usually don't have this problem if I take it right after dinner.

Thanks I am going to change things up tonite see if I don't feel better tomorrow.

When I was on it, I did 5pm w food and fluids. Sometimes I had nausea. Based on pattern, it was second week. I would take it with ondansetron those days and it was better.

I take Ibrance during my evening meal, making sure I eat half my dinner, take the pill, and then eat the other half of my dinner. By making sure it is surrounded with food, it seems to settle better without so many side effects.

Some months the heartburn is worse than others. I take TUMS which helps a lot and it has the added calcium I need so it ends up being a win. I have also taken Zantac but the TUMS seems to work the best.

thanks Ladies for all your replies. I have taken either with dinner or after dinner and not had heartburn for 2 days. I will continue this and see how it works. Thanks for suggestions.

I just started taking Ibrance a few weeks now and I am also having a difficult time with heartburn etc. Glad I read your comments so now I don’t feel alone in this wondering why I hurt every time I eat and can’t get any relief after !

When I first started taking Ibrance, I had a lot of pain in my upper stomach area and nausea overnight. It was very upsetting. I started taking it earlier in the evening, right before dinner and using ginger chews or drinking ginger/turmeric tea before bed. Those things really helped and the pain went away. I have been on the Ibrance 8 months now and no longer have those symptoms. Best of luck to you.
