I have been taking Afinitor and exemestane for a few days and last night started getting what seems like heartburn after I ate what was for me a normal meal. I dont think this is supposed to be a side effect. Has anyone experienced this?

Have you experienced heartburn on Afinitor and exemestane?
I have been on the same combo as you for 6 or 7 months now and I have not experienced heartburn. We are all different though. Could it be something your eating? How often has it happened?

I’m eating the same stuff as ever. Today, only hot things are upsetting, immediately so. I wondered whether the promised mouth sores might also be lower in my esophagus. In the meantime, I’m taking tums. I need the calcium anyway!
I’m not getting heartburn but do get nausea which is horrid so I’ve now got some antiemetics for this
Maybe you’re correct in thinking it could be sores in your oesophagus
Apart from that are you tolerating the drugs?
I asked for a dose reduction from 10 to 7.5 mg everolimus...I’m very anaemic but no mouth sores so far...this is the start of my 4th month

I just started this same meds only yesterday, so not yet? But I had heart burn on Ibrance and Femora, which was no longer working so Onc changed my meds to Afinitor and Exemetane. Do you take the Dexamethasone with your cancer meds? It’s a mouth rinse to prevent sores/ulcers inside your mouth. I take 40 mgs a day of Prilosec because of the heartburn/pressure in my chest. All my life I wore underwire bras and before I was diagnosed it hurt to wear them because of the pressure in my chest, it’s like it hurts thru to my back. I suppose this is bone pain. My cancer is in my bones. So do you take the mouth rinse, Dexamethasone?
Hi, heartburn is a side effect, especially with fried foods. I've taken Nexium fof years so it's not a bother. I dont eat fried foods anymore anyway.
Thanks!
