Hi Marianne, I know if you read all side effects online with Affinitor, it will cause heartburn. I can eat nothing fried unless it's in olive oil. I can't remember if it said the same for Ibrance or nor.

Yes and it’s pretty bad at times. I have a hiatal hernia, and sometimes I get stabbing pain as food goes down my esophagus. Sorry for the graphic description. I am overweight and trying to lose, I am sure that will help. Sometimes avoid carbs altogether and have had a few applesauce and yogurt days. I never had anything like this before Ibrance.

I’m not feeling great myself today. Haven’t been eating much except drinking water. I have a pain in my upper abdominal area. Don’t think it’s heartburn but just chewed 2 tums. Thinking of calling my doctor.

Marianne I have felt heartburn. I’m on Ibrance.

Rib pain and heartburn. I drink buttermilk to help sooth my stomach (I deal with RA and take way too many BC's)and use CBD oil. Avoid sodas, anything sparkly makes it worse and of course no sugar!

Yes. And I too take Omeprazole once daily. I had radiation therapy on my thoracic spine and hips last year. Felt like all my food had to pass through a tennis ball in my oesophagus. It was awful. I still sometimes get a yucky sensation now and again, but staying on Omeprazole for now.

Hi Marianne, yes, the heartburn is one (of many) side effects.

I tried taking omeprazole but honestly the most evfective thing for mt has been tums. I keep a small container on my nightstand, in my car, next to sewing machine, in purse, etc.. They work almost immediately and i only take "if" i need. With the omeprazole it must be taken 45 minutes before meals. Well, i don't have heartburn with every meal, so felt like i was taking medicine for nothing sometimes. At least try it, doesn't work for everyone but worth a try!

What is tums? I’m in Australia. Maybe we don’t have it?

My miracle remedy for heartburn, acid reflux, is: SAN pelligrino in sports bottle with 2 tlbs. Of good quality balsamic vinegar and shaved ice added. Drink that and it will stop reflux even when happening. I fill two bottles daily and even just enjoy drinking it when not having issues. I used to be on heavy duty prescription drugs for this issue! Other sparkling waters do not work as pelligrino comes from ima higher sulfur environment

I put two tablespoons of balsamic in a smaller swell bottle (not plastic). I assume it is 16 to 20 oz. I do not use the big one as my hands are small. One of the glass bottles of pelligrino will be good to split in two swell bottles, then add two TLBS. balsamic and shaved ice and enjoy!! Give it a try.

I took Pepcid AC along with the Ibrance and it worked beautifully.

I keep a glass of water with a couple teaspoons of baking soda in it. I sip on it when I feel the burn. I found other antacids made me nauseated if I took to much. Baking soda gives me immediate relief.
