Hello, just began Ibrance and am coming down with a bad summer cold.Have a pleural effusion so was worried my cough was coming from that, but since 3people in my family(who I was just traveling with) have this awful cold,I suspect I do too.Any advice about warding off a serious respiratory infection?
Really worried about this!
Thanks for any input.

I drink green juice take chaga mushroom elixir sublingual. Nap drink lots of water. How do you know you have effusion? When was last X-ray or CT? Are you coughing a lot and or short of breath? Fever? I’d touch base with my doctor. I had a mild pneumonia last year. Diagnosed by CT as my breath sounds were ok I was hospitalized for 3 days for IV antibiotics and steroids as my asthma kicked in. All this to say I think it is better to err on the side of caution. Our immune systems are compromised and you want to catch things early. On the other hand you may have just a cold, and I hope that’s the case and you feel better soon 👍
I had a bad cold in June which was 90 days in. It lasted 7 days and I had 100 degree fever first day. Dr had me go to urgent care to check my labs. They did an X-ray and labs and all looked normal. They prescribed an antibiotic as precaution. My oncologist said to stop Ibrance for 2 weeks to take it.
I did not stop Ibrance. I chose not to take antibiotics because I could already feel I was improving. It had to run its course of 7 days..
So, maybe antibiotics if you feel it’s getting worse. 🤗
I don’t get many colds just sinus infections. However being in the health field we just let a cold take its course. With that said there are tons of things to ease it. If no fever try taking hot steamy showers to open things up. If you have plural effusion like me don’t take anything that causes fluid. Milk causes congestion so some good old chicken soup an oldie but goody! Always ask your oncologist before taking OTC. I don’t know how big your effusion is but just be careful. Good luck sorry I wasn’t more helpful. Hoping you feel better.
