Ten years into this battle my scans suddenly show thickening of the lining of bladder and stomach. In response to these findings I started on ibrance and falodex just 9 days ago. My blood work is showing the beginning of kidney failure.im so scared and wonder if my new treatments will help to turn this around or if I'll have to stop the Ibrance. This all just popped up suddenly

Kidney failure
Hello, Annie!
So sorry for this change after so many years of success. You don't mention what your protocol has been for the last ten years?
Was your blood panel taken after the start of ibrance? Ibrance can zap both your white cells and red cells, so I wonder if you are experiencing some anemia that is being suggested as start of kidney failure? You don't mention why docs are suggesting this from your blood panel.
Do you notice that you have to pee more often or have any bladder pain? I checked online and it sounds like the thickening in both bladder and stomach is often caused by an inflammation or infection. And it sounds as if these symptoms started before you were placed on new regimen? Did the doctors rule out any infection that had nothing to do with your treatment?
So many questions, but I haven't seen this description before and wonder why docs would switch your cancer protocol? Haven't heard of thickening of bladder and stomach walls as being indication that MBC has returned.
You are in my prayers, Annie. God bless you! Linda
Thanks for all of your questions. I've been too sick to respond but after having ureteral stents put in and starting on Ibrance I'm feeling much better. I had been on Femara for a few years when suddenly my markers went from the 40's to over 3000!! No signs of infection but a 6cm mass was lurking in near my rectum and this inflammation came shortly after. Between the sudden increased markers and mass we started the Ibrance and faslodex. My kidneys started shutting down because my ureters were swollen almost shut. No other abnormal blood work. Thanks to my medical team I am back to work full time and rode my bike 7 miles yesterday!
WOW!! Such a great turnaround!! You are an inspiration!! Ride that bike like you are Queen of the World!!! So happy for you!!
