Hi! I haven’t posted in awhile...I showed some progression in January had right mastectomy and started back on Perjeta...my question is how long has anyone else been on Perjeta? I was hoping to get a few years out of it...My daughter is getting married in Oct. -19... love to not have to worry about this during that time...🙏🏻💕

I was on Perjeta with Herceptin for about 2 1/2 years, at times along with two different chemos (Ixempra followed later by Eribulin). With progression in January of this year, I'm now on neratinib (Nerlynx) and Faslodex. Neratinib is in pill form and acts inside of cancer cells. P & H work outside of the cell by plugging up the surface HER2 receptors. Tucatinib is another new HER2 blocker that works inside cancer cells like neratinib. Both N & T cross the blood brain barrier which is a good thing if there are micro-mets there. So if Perjeta stops working, you have back ups.

Thanks 1998!

That’s the answer I was looking for...I just started back on the Perjeta and the wedding is a year away from now so hopefully it works as long as I’ve heard it should! And thanks for the extra info on the new meds...and that they are pills! I think after I work through the Perjeta and the Kadcyla chemos that my Onc wants to...I’ll be more than ready for a non IV treatment! 😀

-Blessings!
