Due for scans in mid July so that is on my mind. Going to the Caribbean for a nice vacation beforehand so looking forward to that. Going to go on a vegetarian cleansing diet soon to try to get into some better eating habits and lose some weight. I work in a school so I’m counting the days to summer. Best to you all. 💐

Have a great time! I know the dreaded scans, it seems they come around so quickly. Good luck with your scan I will pray for you.

Good morning, Clair! I've noticed that, too! And my appetite is low in first half of day and kicks up through evening (the worst time to be eating). But you are right--I'd rather have a great appetite than be sick with nausea. This regimen has side effects but definitely not the worst! Have a great day--beautiful sunshine already in Seattle! XO Linda

Yes I fight not to eat in between meals that’s what puts weight on. I’m short at 5ft1 and weight 129. I asked the ladies on Faslodex if they gained weight and they said no.My oncologist had me overweight at 135, so I try to watch it. Now we are going on vacation for 10 days and I hope I stay stable. I only eat soup for lunch but avacodos with sandwich at 8pm. Then I try not to eat after that. Great weather for you, Atlanta hot hot and humid. I’m from Florida so I don’t mind.

What is the faslodex used for, bones? I am having my first scans, after initial diagnosis next Thursday. I thought I would be fine with getting those done but I have been really nervous and feeling very alone in my journey right now. Currently just on Ibrance and letrozole with only lung nodes initially. I am getting my prolia shot tomorrow and I have not taken my ibrance this week to get my counts up more to the normal range.

My question for all of you today, is what have your MCV and MCH been. The past three blood draws for me, mine have been above normal and I am concerned about my bone marrow and the size of those red counts for blood cancer. I know it means a form of anemia but my oncologist didn't seem to be too worried. But, he is not the one with this blood abnormality. Any ideas and what have some of you seen and heard.

I've seen Faslodex mentioned here but wasn't sure what it was, so just looked up. It is not for bones. It is another drug used to treat estrogen positive mbc, either alone or in combination with Ibrance. I'm sure others can tell you more about it.

I started Ibrance/Letrozole in October and just checked my MCB and MCH tests. They were in normal range until February 27 when they jumped up to just a little above standard range. My doctor has never mentioned them, and I've never asked. There are a few other things that have been showing up a little high or a little low, and she never comments except to say that my counts look good. I've been blessed in that my WBC and RBC have not fallen majorly at all--they hover either just a little above or below standard, and that's what she looks at.

Yep I know they don’t seem to react to that high but from a little research it appears that not much above normal is significant. Basically I believe it represents the hot in our bone marrow and the red cells increase in size which eventually leads to an anemia of sorts. msyve that’s where the exhaustion actually comes from. I wonder how long you go with those anemic counts before it is a problem.

Yeah my blood work was good but only been on for 2 weeks. I should have said my cancer index is down again. I should have been more clear. Yeah it’s 410 down from over 800 when I found out. My Neutrophils are 2.7 still not great but better than.5. I’m not anemic always around 12.4. My EO was 8.0 now 4.3 I think that’s the Faslodex.

Your blessed with counts. I had to come off Ibrance due to Neutrophils plunged to 500. So I’m on Faslodex and Verzenio hopefully my blood work stays good or I don’t know what they will do. My cancer index was down to 410, I know that’s high but it was 817 when I found out last summer. I pray for your great blood work to continue.

The Faslodex is just hormonal therapy with a kick of synthetic steroids. It makes me feel better just injections hurt. My MCV for some reason is always normal along with MCH. How high are you talking about.? Yeah I pray your scans come back good and you stay on Ibrance. I’m thinking about you. Clair

Thanks Clair, You were one of the first communicators and I appreciate your attention to all of us. Keep me informed how you do on Verzenio and if it takes as big a hit on your neutrophils as Ibrance does. You did go down to 75 mgs, right? I am currently on 100 but I can never take it on the 3 weeks 1 week off schedule. I usually am off for 2 weeks, which is where I am now. How long did you take it before you had to switch? I believe you started about when I did, the first of the year, but I'm not sure.

When you say the new shot makes you feel better, what does that mean exactly?

My MCV and MCH are over by a small amount but apparently, it does not take much to be considered a concern. I don't have them in front of me right now.

How about medical marijuana? Anyone look into it to assist?

At 9 PM EST there is a season 2 beginning, free access, to the sacred plant. You can go online and listen. I'm doing that in a couple of minutes

Hey, just saw this. I was only on Ibrance 100 for only 3 weeks. He just switched over to Verzenio right away. I’m talking about the Faslodex it gives me some energy. I think because it’s a synthetic steroid. That might be why my weight is up. Does your oncologist say anything about switching to Verzenio due to your blood work? Your off as much as your on it. There are other options, I would bring it up, wouldn’t hurt.
