Has anyone else experienced Mets to the scalp?

I went to the dermatologist end of March convinced it was basal cell. Pathology came back BC. ER/PR +, Her2-. Consistent with my original diagnosis. The dermatologist says the good news is that whatever we were using for bone Mets will address it. It won’t require more meds. If you have experienced it, did it resolve? How long have you had it or resolved it?

Guess I ask because googling brought me down the wrong path...sometimes google helps but most times it makes me freak...

Yes I have a number of skin mets including scalp. My oncologist said they should shrink with chemo. I was diagnosed stage 4 MBC in 9/17 after a routine eye exam followed by CT scans and a liver biopsy which showed breast cancer same as my cancer 10 years ago. I have mets in my eye, brain, liver, lungs,,and bones. So far 3 months of chemo no change. I did have/18 total brain and eye radiation treatments. after about 3 months all my scalp mets are gone except one really small one but none of the others have changed. I am sure it was the radiation that shrunk them. I am now on Faslodex and Verzenio so will see. Mets to skin and eyes in breast cancer not common but do happen. I had just seen a dermatologist shortly before my diagnosis and had a sin met on my abdomen which she told me was "just a cyst"

You sound so strong and I love that. I’m not going to complain about my spine and rt lung. I never have heard it in eye or scalp, I mean mbc, that tells me just how this cancer is a real battle. I will pray for you and hope you do well. Keep us posted please.

How did you know that you had something on your scalp? I have this strange little pain when I touch a portion of my scalp, like an irritation of sorts. I can't see it as it is on top but now wondering!!

Well the one spot was near my part towards front. It was pink, flat. It was bald...size of a pencil eraser. They biopsies that but they are hard to find. I think I have maybe 2 more spots although dermatologist couldn’t confirm. Hair is pretty thick. I know at the back of head, I had a sensation like my hair was being pulled in this one spot. The spot I can see looks like nasal cell carcinoma but pathology said it’s breast cancer.

Thinning

Right now, nothing. If it’s going to happen, there is nothing I can do except a topper by Jon Renau or The Fall by Halo couture. I’ve been juicing and my hair is growing long. But I do feel like it’s gradually thinning either from meds or induced menopause.

I googled about the scalp Mets that the hair usually doesn’t grow back. But it appears mine has. I did not have hair on the spot at time of biopsy. Now I’ve had a scab from biopsy for 3 months with hair growing through it....just lovely 🤨
