Normalish blood test after 2 years on ibrance

I have been on ibrance and letrozole for almost 2 years. I just returned from a three week trip to India, had a blood test, and for first time my neutrophils (usually .8) are 1.5–solidly normal and other indicators are almost normal (except platelets and glucose.). Havent seen my doctor yet. Isnt this odd??? Different diet? (Mostly veg, lots of turmeric etc)

I follow a plant based, whole food, vegan, low salt, OW sugar, very low to no oil diet and am on Ibrance and metronome and even though love been neutropenia a few times l believe the diet keeps me feeling pretty good, and avoiding serious infection when my counts are so low. We also use lots of spices including turmeric which are also very good for you. Good for you that you got to travel and are feeling well with good counts ☺

Yep diet makes all the difference! Good for you!! Turmeric important. Make a tea similar to golden milk or just try golden milk . Combo in there helps super charge turmeric!

I ate a largely vegetarian Indian diet while I was in India. Typically: Fresh cooked vegetables, lentils (dal) and whole wheat roti. The only fresh fruit was papaya. I drank tea with cardamom and ginger too.

Hi,I think that was from having more of a anti inflamitory diet. Tumeric is very anti inflammatory . I keep reading and hearing about so many health issues are aggravated by inflamation. There is a lot of info out there about anti inflammatory and/or low PH diets. I really think they help a lot. We all have what we have.. and all we can do it be positive, do as much as we can to be super healthy, get a lot of sleep and no whining!!! Right??

Great 👍. I just started Ibrance. Is it possible in just 2 weeks my cancer index down 100 from 510? I hope you continue to have great news. May I ask your index.

That is really good to hear Buffwright. I am on Ibrance and Letrozole also and hope to eventually hear good news like that. I am also interested in your diet in India. Are you a predominantely vegan or vegetarian as well as taking turmeric? How much turmeric daily and was it fresh or dried. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Stay safe. Marlene

I am not a vegetarian. But in India that’s the best food! I don’t think I ate any meat — my host was vegetarian. ! At home I’m mostly vegetarian, but not by design. It’s just what I like. I eat a little chicken.

I’m not sure what my longevity with cancer is attributable to. I was first diagnosed in 1994. The current MBC diagnosis was in 2016. The studies that are being done now should help us all.

Thank you for sharing your story. We all need to hear success stories. It helps us stave off depression. I am into my garden these days and hope all my good food helps me stay well. I just made myself a turmeric drink because you mentioned that it seems to have helped you. So I am grateful to you for inspiring me. Hugs and best wishes Marlene
