Has anyone used estradiol vaginal cream? My doctor said it would be okay to use but i'm very nervous to try since my cancer is estrogen fed.

I've been using Rx compounded testosterone cream to minimize vaginal atrophy and dryness for over 12 years without problems. Of course, I don't know what not using it would have been like but that is a good alternative for those of us on hormonal treatment. Talk with your onc and gynecologist about it. There is also an Rx compounded cream that helps with orgasms....it's nicknamed "dream cream." LOL

I am so happy to hear about the testosterone cream! I just wasn't thinking about being able to use testosterone. I've never heard of dream cream either! Please, are there any other things like these you can share?

Regarding the estradiol, it is not estrogen and actually is the good part of estrogen. If my Dr. told me it is ok to use i would use it. 😊

I don't have other creams to recommend, but for anybody whose vagina has shrunk, you can buy expanders that come in graduated sizes to help stretch the vagina out again. I found them on line and they are something that have been available for years! My onc and my gynie are both women, and they both told me that I could safely use either the testosterone cream I have been using or something called E-string to minimize the effect that hormonal treatment has on the vagina. Do ask your onc about the estradiol....I have heard of women with E + mbc using it with their onc's approval! I really love having women doctors! Feel alot more comfortable talking with them about intimate stuff than I would with a male doc. I do have some men docs that I like alot, too, but ever since I first had a woman gynecologist in the 1980s I've looked for those! I hope you find what you need! So much "little" stuff comes with living with bc!

Thank you sooooo much for your information! I am about 10 months into MBC treatment now and my Mets is stable. I finally have the bandwidth to add my wants into the treatments.

All the best to you!

If these products are OK for E+MBC patients to use why don't our doctors tell us this? I agree it's extremely hard discussing these issue's with a male DR. but my Onc. is great & would never change. I do have a female GP but she is no help!

I use e-string vaginally and a pea size amount of estradiol cream externally daily. Vaginal atrophy has caused me more quality of life issues than I thought it would. The estradiol cream externally was added after I started having frequent UTI's. My Gynocologist recommend to add this. She stated all your issues are due to lack of estrogen. No UTI's since starting this.

Thank you. I've been having issues for the last 2 years, but have never really done anything about it.
