I had my first scan since starting Ibrance and Letrozole. I also had radiation before starting my drugs. There has been no new growth and most of my existing cancer is showing signs of remodeling (my oncologist used a fancy word but he said it meant the drugs were fighting the cancer). My cancer is throughout my skeleton with most damage to my left hip and spine/neck/skull. I have had to wait three weeks between each round so he is going to drop the strength of my Ibrance to try and keep my neutrophils from dropping to 0.3 each time. I was relieved to hear it was working. It will make the pain and side effects easier to handle. I had to share my news ❤️

Good CT Scan
That is such great news!!! You need to exhale and celebrate.
I am so happy for you and as you said it makes all the side effects more tolerable when you get some positive news . Like you, I am 54 and have bone mets (to pelvis) but have not yet had radiotherapy , and I am expecting to have a scan very soon as I am now on my 6th cycle of Ibrance / letrozole which I have so far tolerated . 😘
Awesome news! Praise Jesus👆🏻⚓️🌊🙏 my forstbscans are next Monday with results Friday so I am praying for some good news as well. We are so blessed to have wonderful doctors and medication available. I’m hoping for a long life for all of us🌈
🙏🏻 Celebrate every positive !
I’m so happy for you!
I’ve been on letrozole for 2 months and ibrance for a month and my cancer markers have halved. My neutrophils have dropped so I’m taking a break from ibrance until they go up. My first scan will be in July and hoping for a positive outcome as well.
Wonderful! Glad to read of the great results. Congratulations!❤️
Very good news! Hoping it continues for you. 👍❤
Great news!
So happy for you!
Fantastic news!! It sure does make the side effects a little less difficult. Thanks for sharing. It's inspiring.
Sarcie, That is great news! Thanks so much for sharing...
That is so great to hear as i am getting my first scan within the next 2 weeks! So happy for you!
Hooray for Sarcie! I just love reading posts like yours! May your progress continue for many years to come. God bless you! XO Linda
Good for you!! Keep up the positive good things!!
Thanks for sharing the great news! I had breast cancer with Mets to my spine and right hip bone. My vertebrae were so shattered by the cancer that two of them were removed surgically. Then, radiation to my hip and upper spine was done but it left a hole in my hip. So I had surgery to close the hole with a material similar to cement. Now I’m able to walk without any aids.
I’m so happy for you. May you enjoy more days in your life.
Hello Fpmeehan,
Nice meeting you here! I’m glad I found you , we have exactly the same diagnosis. To mention, breast cancer with Mets to spine and hip. I underwent spine surgery and hip replacement and also had 10 times radiation therapy. I’m currently on ibrance and Letrozole. I’m doing well by the grace of God. It’s been 1 year now since my diagnosis . All the best to you!
That’s how I feel. Praise God! It was so scary when I was told about the tumors in my bones. I cried like never before. A kind nurse said that my diagnosis isn’t a death sentence like 20 years ago. What surgery was performed on your spine?
Fpmeehan. When were you diagnosed and how are you doing ?
July 2014 PET scan showed cancerous tumors in my spine and hips; then a biopsy of a bone chip from my right hip and the fragments from the spine were all used to determine that I had Lobular Carcinoma with Mets to my bones. The Herceptin infusions every three weeks make me very tired and the Tamoxifen causes skin lesions on my hands and feet that are very painful.
Thanks for relying and Sorry to hear about the side effects. , but it seems to be working correct? Is this your first line of treatment ? And why this combo?
This is my first line of treatment. The Ibrance and Letrozole together are supposed to starve the cancer cells and stop them from growing.
I am glad to hear the great news. They will get the dose right. Then you will start feeling better.
Glad for your good report hope the side effects and pain lessen for you as well.
Sarcie, I am fairly new here and was diagnosed 5 months ago so I missed this update you sent 4 months ago. How are you doing ?
My second scan showed that everything had stayed the same which I am told is a good scan. There were no improvements but there was also NO new growth. I have dropped to 100mg Ibrance as my neutrophils were dropping so low it took three weeks off to get them back up. Sadly the 100mg still has the same wait time but my Doc said as long as it is working not to worry about the three week wait each month.
That sounds positive to me, as long as it’s working that’s all that matters. Fantastic news!!!!
