Hello, everyone, I'm new to this community and glad that I found out about it. I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer in 2003, but it metastasized in 2007. My pathology has always been HER2+ and hormone negative. The cancer has been in my lung and brain. The lung metastasis was treated with a surgical wedge resection in 2007, and when it appeared in the lung again in 2008, I opted for radiofrequency ablation (RFA) to burn the tumor. The cancer also spread to my brain in 2008, and I was treated with a craniotomy and five targeted dosages of intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT). I've been taking Herceptin and my cancer has been stable for awhile. I'm also a member of the HER2 Support Group message board.

Thank you. I've been struggling with negative feelings and your writing made me realize there is hope as you have been fighting the disease several years. Thank you for lightinga small spark back in me.

Welcome, Joan37! Thank you for being here.
Hello Joan37,
I ticked 'liked' because you found this support group and posted.
It makes for sad reading much of the time, but the good news is that we are here to talk and share with others in similar positions. I find it a useful group as it helps me not to feel so isolated some days. I hope it helps you also.
Best wishes,
Patricia 1517
Thanks, Patricia, It's important to support each other emotionally and by exchanging information. Warm wishes, Joan
