Anastrazole Side Effects Similar to Parathyroid Issues

After having a lumpectomy, I was prescribed Anastrozole in January 2019 but had some unpleasant side effects (I thought). Also I had a Dexa scan which showed the beginnings of osteoporosis. However, when I had my 6 monthly check with the consultant and explained about the aches, pains and brain fog she decided to put me in for a blood test. That evening I was admitted to hospital with extremely high amount of calcium in the blood. Further tests showed that I had an adenoma on the parathyroid gland. It turned out the symptoms I experienced were similar to Parathyroid problems. I am now on Tamoxifen which is much better for me as I am post menopausal. I had to have another operation to remove the overactive gland and adenoma in September 2019 and so far I haven't experienced anything like the previous symptoms.

Hi: I've been on Anastrozole for nearly two years and I can't say that I have many side effects. I'm due for my check-up in December 2020 and I hope the Anastrozole is doing it's job. Regards, Judy.
