Soy Products & Triple Neg BC

I may have asked this question before, but does eating soy products really matter anymore? I have TNBC, had double mastectomy, finished chemo and am on Arimidex.

Not that I love soy or tofu, but so many products are made with soy derivatives.

I don't eat any of the processed soy products. What about tempeh & seitan?

Hi Hidden , the jury is still out on this question but the article below provides some insight on both sides.

But please be sure to check with your doctor to figure out what's best for you.

Greetings:Sister/ SeeSwee6 I am a triple negative 10 year breast cancer survivor(Over-

comer). If you had a triple negative diagnoses this would mean our cancer was not brought

on ,or fed by the hormones in our bodies. Almost 10 years ago when I and all of the ladies

who started chemo together finished our last treatment, they were given Tamoxifen or

Arimidex prescriptions.I was not given any of the aforementioned prescriptions after I

finished my last aggressive chemotherapy treatment, which stopped all hormone production

and sent me into a troublesome menopause at the age of 46. I felt like everybody was given

a dessert or something extra to live or at least live longer, except me. I went home

remembering what the Oncologist told me "You have around a year to live, so everything you

haven't done, and you want to do, do it now". I was not given a prescription for Arimidex or

Tamoxifen, but Doctor/God was my prescription. 10 of my 12 lymph nodes were positive for

cancer. How does a one year prognosis turn into 10 years with no evidence of cancer in my

body. There is no other explanation, I had Doctor/ God and he had me. This is why I am

living, loving, and enjoying this journey trying my best to help those in need along the way.

The studies say that Soy mimics estrogen, and women with breast cancer or those with a

previous breast cancer diagnosis shouldn't have more than 25 mg of soy/tofu per day. I am

into health and wellness, and because I am triple negative I do drink soy milk, almond milk

and coconut milk. I also occasionally stir fry tofu with my vegetables.I still don't usually

exceed more than 5 mg per day. I eat by a book called Bloodtype/body type diet, and I take

only natural supplements that come from God's green earth. There are other foods that can

also mimic estrogen,and progesterone.

Sorry it took me this long to get back to you. Gods blessings to the men and women in

the military and their loved ones for the sacrifices they have made to keep us safe. The world

we live in causes us to fight for peace. I pray for peace. God bless my sisters and yes some of

my brothers fighting to eradicate cancer.
