Has anyone had rubber band ligation of internal hemmorhoids?

My gastroenterologist wants to do this at the same time as my colonoscopy. I'll be knocked out, but wondering what he'll be doing to me while I'm out and what to expect afterward.

Hi, it's not that bad if you are sedated you won't know anything about it. your doctor will do the colonoscopy first this takes the longest he will examine your hemorrhoids with the camera any hemorrhoids that need banding he will do them, it only takes a few minutes.

Afterwards it will feel a little uncomfortable this can last for a few days it is uncomfortable having a poo for a week or so it can be painful. at some stage you may find you will have some bleeding this will be the Bands coming off this is quite normal but if bleeding is heavy or doesn't stop you would need to have it checked.

I had it done and I had excruciating pain and could not live without pain medication. Taking a s*** was excruciating pain for over a month. My my mother had it done and she said it was a piece of cake. I would have it done being that you're going to have the colonoscopy anyway make sure the doctor gives you a prescription for pain medicine just in case

Thanks for the info. I had it done a couple weeks ago. I did have lower abdominal pain for several days. I also had difficulty having bowel movements. It's better now except yesterday I started having rectal bleeding. I'm going to wait and see for a couple days and if it doesn't stop make an appointment. After the procedure I asked if I needed a follow up appointment and he said no. I figured he would want to do a rectal exam.

Use coconut oil in your ass, this could help u. It has always helped me as it decreases inflammation in your ass.
