My wife and I had received an appointment for ajmaline test to detect Brugada síndrome. I've been reading about this test and it says that in most cases is safe. I would like to know if the risks are really worth knowing the results?
Thank you.

Hi, the benifits outweigh the risks if you intend conform with what ever trearment a positive result dictates and for the safeguard of your children's children. On the later personally I beleive its warranted. But should it be positive and you beleive you could not or will not live with an ICD,the small risk would be pointless. Get as much information as possible about what a positive result will mean for either of you and your family, and make an informed decision. Good luck
I just wanted to let you know that we had the test and it went all well. The result came up negative meaning that we do not have Brugada syndrome.
Probably the next test they will suggest us is the adrenaline provocation test. But we'll have to waiting a bit longer for that.
Thank you all.
Good news in a very sad story. Good wishes in the future .
