breathing problems

hi all-haven’t been on here for a while dealing with things. Update on hubby: He is currently on 7.5 mg of methadone and .5 Xanax for sleep. He can’t sleep in bed or lying down because he can’t breathe well….mostly due to severe nasal congestion. He is only using saline nose drops now because the stronger ones were giving him nose bleeds. He can sleep in a recliner but not the bed. Lying down make him feel like he is struggling g to breathe even with cpap on.

Does meth and/or the Xanax create excess nasal congestion? Also would a Zyrtec help or hurt him? Please advise and thanks

Methadone doesn't cause nasal congestion but xanax might.

Safe substitutes are not as strong - Valerian Root, Lavender and L-theanine. Vital Nutrients Vegan Sleep Supplement combines these with others.

Does he have to wean off the Xanax at .5 mg?
