As no one else has replied, I'll add what helped me.Pregabalin is used for menopausal sweats/ hot flashes so I started taking 50mg.

It definitely reduced the sweats.

And after 3.5 years on Buprenorphine, my sweats are further reducing as my body adjusts, even though I've reduced Pregabalin down to 12.5mg.

Thats good to hear . Dr ringing Friday now . Of course Ive only been off Gabapentin a week now after a VERY slow wean so I could be having some withdrawal sweats I guess from that ? They are worse in the morning but happen all day . Not nice !

Can you describe how you weaned off Gabapentin?

Hi , I did it really slowly , so dropping 100mgs every fortnight and then at the end I went to every other day then twice a week for a couple of weeks . It went well although sweats are quite bad but that could be opioid sweats .

The gabapentin might have been reducing the opioid sweats and stopping it has made the sweats start again. There is a research study showing pregabalin ( another gabapentinoid) reduces menopausal sweats/ hot flushes.pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articl...

Ah ok , I hadnt thought of that scenario ! I think (touch wood) they are less today and I read withdrawal after Gabapentin can take 7 - 10 days and its day 8 today .I was on 1800 mgs at some point so quite a big dose .Still going for the Pregabalin though ....if they will prescribe it !

I’ve been on .5 mg Bup for a year now and the sweats are decreasing. What was interesting is when Zi was withdrawing from Prami while starting Bup at the same time as buproprion for depression all the sweats( menopausal and Bup sweats) completely disappeared and the depression symptoms were the best they’ve been in years. Sweats and depression reappeared after being off Prami for a few weeks

My sweating lasted for about a week. I had to shower twice a day and change my bed and clothing, but that has stopped now..

Good luck with that. MY other symptoms/side effects have all passed and the BUP is doing a good job of stopping the RL and allowing me to sleep.
