A helpful article by Dr Jean Marc Bugnicourt on dopamine agonists.
He confirms that DAs should no longer be first line medications and that gabapentinoids often do not work on patients who have augmented on DAs.
He points out that there are limited medications available to treat RLS, but does mention dipyradimole, perampanel and Ganoderma Lucidum mushrooms.
He also mentions Tramadol, but not the other low dose opioids set out in the Mayo Algorithm.
Hopefully, the realisation of the dangers of DAs will spread throughout Europe and these drugs will soon stop being prescribed.
