Hey guys im struggling with the search so reaching out to anyone who has had apps with Dr Chris Murphy in MCR. Ive been told he is a great help and can further assist with finding to find a GP to prescribe opioids if my area wont.

Dr Murphy is great but he likes to prescribe Neupro (rotigotine) which is another DA which he believes is less likely to lead to augmentation so don't let him.
im told he helps with Buprenorphine also, ill deff never take a DA again!!
Yes my husband saw him end of September n he was brilliant. Based in Salford but works privately at Alexander Hospital in Cheadle.He waited several weeks for appt.
Hubby wanted buprenorphine (been down all other routes with DA's n the resulting horrific augmentation. Pregabalin, gabapentin etc etc). Prof Murphy was agreeable n wrote a very informative letter to our GPs who had already refused to prescribe it. Anyhow our GP followed his instructons and 4 weeks down the line hubby is free of this dreadful syndrome n sleeping like a baby EVERY night. One or two side effects but worth it, he says, to be sleeping again!
Worth every penny! This man should be knighted 😉

I saw dr Murphy a few weeks ago (4 hours drive away from where I live) and he wrote a letter to my gp who agreed to prescribe buprenorphine. As someone else said he did talk about DAs but I said I’d never try another ever again and he didn’t push me. He is happy to do a telephone follow up apt if I need to in the future. Good luck for the future and finding some relief Andy.
