I have an appointment in October with Dr.Kanika Bagai at Vanderbilt Nashville, which I'm very much looking forward to. Would like to know if any of you have been seen by her for RLS and would like to hear your comments.

6236 mentioned the possibility a few months ago of contacting that centre but I don't know whether he ended up pursuing it.
You might also try joining the RLS Foundation's Discussion Board and asking there as they will have more US members:
I was diagnosed and treated by Dr. Walter Edward's and his physicians at the Vanderbilt Clinic for 20 years. He is one of the RLS researchers. They are knowledgeable and kind. They are very cautious about prescribing opioids, but will do so after every other option fails. My problem I'd that I live just across the Tennessee border in Kentucky. They will not write out of state prescription and do not offer any assistance locating or communicating with a Kentucky physician. Every clinic in my county is affiliated with Vanderbilt but there is not a one of their Vanderbilt colleagues that will assist me. If you are a Tennessee resident this will not be a problem for you. Good luck to you. I hope you will Shar e more about your journey!
I live in Oklahoma City and just got back from Vanderbilt Sleep Center in Nashville. I was so hopeful for help since I have been unable to get any help in Oklahoma. I have been weaning off Requip and have literally been going crazy with no sleep for nights. I am also on 1200 mg of Gabapentin. Finally found a sleep doctor who would give me tramadol 50 mg which gave some relief. Saw Dr. San at Vanderbilt. Liked him. He agreed that my ferritin was too low and my iron levels were too low, and that an iron infusion would help. Also suggested that I take Horizant. But, I left so disheartened because he can’t treat in Oklahoma. He did refer me to a sleep specialist here in OKC who knows about RSL. He also felt a sleep study would be good since apnea makes RSL worse. I have had studies which do not show apnea. Regardless, no real help after flying to Nashville. I hope this doctor here at OU can help. I am so very very weary. I feel that I am loosing my soul. It is now 3:00 a.m. and another night with no sleep. Dr San also suggested my Primary Care doctor. I told him I had been seeing him among other specialists for years. They do not get it. They just give you more Gabapentin and more Dopamine Agonists. Never read or care about RLS. Oh, I even tried Mayo, Rochester. They turned down my referral.
Little Gran
So sorry to hear this, littlegran. Do you know how to go from here? Maybe contact dr Ondo in Texas (by phone or mail) just to ask whether he can work out of state or recommend a knowledgeable doctor in OK.
I have a telehealth appt. With Vanderbilt Neurology on July 8th. I will report back with results. I live 2 hours from Nashville so decided on the telehealth call when it was offered.
Did you have to get a referral for this? My pulmonologist and allergist are at Vanderbilt but my primary Dr is not affiliated, and not up to date on RLS.
Fleur29, I called and got my Vanderbilt appointment without a referral. I was lucky because they had a cancellation. Otherwise, it would be late July. But since you are a patient already, you might get in sooner. I just called the sleep study center. They were very helpful.
