antidepressant recommendations?

Looking for anti depressant recommendations please.

I’m in the UK. The RLS UK website lists Trazodone and Bupropion as being safe for RLS but the BNF doesn’t list Bupropion for depression and Trazodone is not going to be great with Pregabalin and Dihydrocodeine due to the sedative affects.

Are there any others that might be ok that anyone knows of?

Thanks 🙏

Moclobemide or Vortioxetine (trintellix, Brintellix) is on RLS-UK not safe list - however some people find it is safe

There's a good chance that you can end depression without meds by changing your diet. youtu.be/w76HgPmnwhU?si=3ue...

Serious depressions will definately not end by changing diet.

"There's a good chance that you can end depression without meds by changing your diet" This is not even mentioned in this video. Don't state wrong things, that you don't even have an idea about. It is mentioned as a new approach to think about which maybe worth for more research. It hasn't not mentioned "as a good chance to solve it". And by the way, he is an assistant professor in Harvard medical school and a doctor in a hospital, not the depression expert himself. His opionion is not a consens among scientists and should not be advertised as a current valid serious solution approach. You are talking about that as it would be headache or a stomach problem and a kind of tea that could help. "There's a good chance that you can end depression" is definately wrong and is not ok for a serious disease like depression. There can be many other serious causes for that.

Irrestpective of that, a dietary change costs nothing, has no side effects other than weight loss, and that is likely to be slower than the neuroligical changes,so what's your objection to tying is? It could be a game changer for some people if not for everyone.

BUPROPION ( Wellbutrin) works well for depression and won't cause additional problems with RLS.

I agree this seems to be a good option, the problem is it’s not listed as an antidepressant on the BNF/NICE guidelines so not sure if they’ll be happy prescribing it?

Do you know if any evidence I could direct them to?

bupropion is totally an anti depressant - it isn’t used for anything else!. I use it, 300mgs, but it did stir up the RLS a bit, so dr increased the methadone.

I'm having trouble seeing which posts I'm responding to, trying to learn how to navigate this group!

If you click reply under the post then you are responding to that post. For example I clicked reply under your post saying you were having trouble seeing which posts.

Yes, I see that. Thanks so much for helping me! But I don't get how to stroll down to see other posts and replies. I wish it was a little more like Facebook! I'm 70 and so I think my age affects my abilities here! but you probably figured that out from my name, grandma of 7!

I have the same problem with this page!

If you go to the very top of this page it says “posts” and you can click there to see more posts.

Replies to posts are quite far down past some other stuff on that post.
