Peculiar RLS triggers

Besides the usual suspects that trigger RLS for the majority of us, I'm curious to know if anyone else has any odd triggers we don't normally discuss? One of mine is bug bites, the ITCHY kind. Especially when I i get them on my arms or legs. I currenty have several mosquito bites on my legs that set off my RLS like crazy. Usually last for several days and sleep is almost impossible. Nothing really helps. Just have to wait it out.

Curses to those pesky critters.

If the bug bites are setting off an inflammatory reaction, that might be the connection. Did you take any antihistamines to combat the itch? Sadly, that can make RLS worse too. Maybe try a cold bath instead.

There are safe antihistamines - claritin, zyrtec and allegra which are OTC and clarinex which is prescription.

I hear you. Pretty much anything that draws attention to the legs can set things in motion for some of us.
