Therapulse

I am interested in trying the product Therapulse but when I go to their website I get confused. Can anyone please tell me exactly what this product is and what it does? I have seen post where it has helped with RLS.

It's a fairly small unit containing a rechargeable battery that has a velcro strap to fit around the leg. It turns on by pressing the button and allows a number of settings of pulse vibration. Easy and simple to use, I've found it very helpful to deter RLS.

This is not a personal recommendation as I haven't used it, but some have certainly felt it helped them. I presume that you've read their How It Works and Research pages:

Thanks for the link Chris! After seeing the picture that was posted by 50568789 and reading the information in the link you sent I’m not sure it would work in my situation. My worst symptom is in my knee and I don’t think that it would attach very well to the knee. I have seen other products on Amazon but they are more compression type products and not sure if they would do any good.

Yes it fits well on the inside of the Knee ( my main prob. also) and cross your legs and the vibration if its going to help will benefit both legs, I`ve had one for 10 days or so, Jury still out.

I have an appointment on February the eighth for what the doctor called red light therapy. I think I’ll wait until after that before I buy it. Thank you for your response!

You might be better off with a small TENS type of machine?

It's a small gadget, rechargeable...I have one...use it for 15 mins on each leg...definitely works but doesn't 'cure' ...bit like a small Tens machine ..costs about £40...strap it on to y calf/leg...use it sitting down, in bed,on a flight etc...

I found you definitely need 2 and I fit them round my thighs.It is a great distraction for rls.

I use it and have for the last 4 months i have found it very helpful and now rely on it for night time breakthrough or during the day breakthrough when i lay down in the afternoon you can walk around with it on and i usually at night just let it work and i fall asleep with it on You do have 14 days to try it out if not suitable you can send it back and get a refund I have a tens machine but it never worked for me

Thank you for your information! My neurologist has scheduled some kind of red light therapy and I will probably wait and see what that does.

I thought it was absolutely dreadful. The settings and vibrations are pretty much like an adult toy, and extremely loud, so I could not possibly put up with it let alone sleep through it. I could not get it to stay comfortably on my leg, the strap was a joke. All in all I found it difficult to imagine how it could help. It’s expensive for what it is (compared with adult toys). I returned it.

I find it really helps me for breakthrough in the night not a cure and I need 400mg pregabalin as well but I can at least get back to sleep sometimes while it's on but in the main I can read and fall back asleep in 20 /30 mins. Well that's how I am now hope it lasts obvs would prefer to sleep all night but much better than I have been and it stops the need to pace along with the meds. My battery stopped charging and they replaced with a new device straight away no quibble.

Could you update on the red light therapy please once you've had it not seen anything on that.

I will. My neurologist done a nerve conduction test and the nerves in both legs were very weak so he said the red light therapy would strengthen my nerves and hopefully help the RLS. We will see. But I will definitely keep you updated

Belated, but I have this and it is very helpful. They also replaced them free of charge, when my original ones stopped charging as it was within an automatic one year warranty. Worth trying.
