One of you recommended Therapulse so I ordered one..£42 inc. P& P.. It is an attachment on one leg that sends an electric pulse at varying speeds for 10 minutes or longer.
I was sceptical as the foot plate didn't work for me that I bought years ago that also vibrated etc..But so far Therapulse is working. I used it on each calf twice yesterday...lunch time and evening when my RLS started.
I have no financial interest in the company but it does seem to be working.

I bought two for my calves months ago and I’m also epileptic. I was at my wits end as the lack of sleep thanks to the RLS had a knock on effect with my epilepsy - increasing seizure activity - if it wasn’t one thing it was the other. As I posted initially, the post seizure knock out was the only sleep/but not real sleep I was having, thanks to these bloody legs.
It was sheer desperation during the wee small hours awake thanks to the legs, that made me part with money to buy these wee gadgets. And I also have found relief. 10/15mins mid afternoon, then I let it run for a full 30-45 mins just before settling to bed. No more Ropinirole (The effin DEVIL!) or Pramipexole. 🤞🏻 and sleep like a baby again and the seizures are just back to their normal random self.
Just like the OP I have zero financial interest in the company, and the only reason that made me part with the money was the money back guarantee. My only complaint about them is the strap, but on the grand scheme of things, it keeps them on and they work so happy nights. 👌🏻 x
I am so glad it is working for you. I have also had very good results with the Chi Machine which has a vibrating swaying motion of various speeds which I rest my ankles on. The vibrations go up my legs as far as the head and it seems to have an effect on my vagus nerve and switch off the RLS most nights long enough to go to sleep.
Hurrah! Am delighted. Yes I recommended Therapulse to everyone as it is the only thing that has really me and is not another pill. I use two, one on each leg but sometimes I think 4 would be wonderful.
Yes.. couldn't think of your name!! I just have one but use it on each leg and seems to work ok...really bought it for longhaul flight to Sydney...I do 10 mins on each calf...whenever I can remember. Not waking up with RL S in night but still getting RLS early evening..so use it again...charges quickly and light to carry. Thanks for recommending...but we still need an actual cure...
I don't know...but could be something similar... it's just an electronic pulse at varying speeds, intensity..never used a Tens machine but is it similar??
Yes, you can find it on Amazon, the exact same one in the picture. In the upper right hand corner, touch the American flag and you will have the page that gives you the dollar amount, etc.
Can it attach to the thigh? I get my RLS symptoms in my thigh, just above the knee, both back and front. Does this attach to the leg or does one hold it against the area?
Thank you for telling us about your good luck with Therepulse! I'm in the US and tried to find it on-line, but just found Therapulse.com (which is a TENS massage unit that doesn't look like what you've pictured. Could you give me anymore info about where to find it? Thanks so much!!!
Thanks for the info! I just tried to order it, knowing it could take a while to arrive. But, they don't offer the US as a country option when filling out the order.
Oh dear...based in Channel Isles..Guernsey..wonder why they won't send to US?. But look for a small tens machine that might be similar,...?? Can you email Therapulse and find out more?
Hi Teddi, I went to the site, clicked onto to "Learn more about RLS" link, then scrolled to item #7... and clicked "Learn More"... this takes you to an article co-authored by Dr Mark Buchfuhrer. My point...this Dr is involved in the studies; since you have seen this Dr. as a patient perhaps you could call him and ask where you might get a Therapulse machine..?? I would love to order one too ; would you please let us know if you have success finding out from Dr. Buchfuhrer - he is involved somehow. Thks!
I agree-I want to try it, as well. I am still taking kratom (and hirsuta sometimes) with an occasional night of suboxone. Hoping there is some way of not going to opioids forever.
That's exactly where I am minus the suboxone - I alternate hirsuta a couple times a week with occasional CBD tincture under the tongue (has delta 8) plus a longer acting delta 9 gummy on the nights I don't take hirsuta. The CDB delta 8 doesn't work as well as hirsuta for me but it does decreases mine by about 80% every night. I get about 6-7 hrs sleep.
Interesting-thanks for the info. I would love to try what you are taking-could you share the brand, etc.? I neglected to mention that I use 3/4 of a 50 mg Delta 8 gummy every night for sleep.
Of course; the brand for the short acting (2-3 hrs) is 3CHI Comfortably Numb 1200 mg tincture. I take 1/2 of a dropper from the bottle about 30" before bed - it works pretty fast without any psychoactive effects - just tiredness. I also take at the same a 1/4 - 1/3 of a 10 mg/piece gummie from the brand urb , delta 9 THC hemp derived. This gummie is longer acting because it's an edible - up to 6-7 hrs for me. The owner of the CBD store is very knowledgeable and explained that taking the short and the long acting two together will help me fall asleep and then sleep longer into the early morning. I wake up a couple of times during the 7 hrs with light RL but am able to then use a wonderful Mg spray someone on another site recommended and it works in 5 minutes!. Bamm, I'm back in bed and asleep again. The only negative so far is every so slight grogginess upon waking and since I don't drink caffeine it takes me an hour or so to get going but after that the day is much better with good energy because of getting more sleep.
(The Mg spray is called Better You Body Spray.. Magnesium Sleep- I believe I found it on Amazon?)
That is just great for you-and nothing hard to get or dangerous! Hopefully! I am going to try to do what you are doing, although Delta 8 alone has never taken care of my rls. Possibly because of the long-term DA use? Or, maybe somehow I can still land on something that is more natural and OTC?!?!
Thanks a bunch and thanks for the mag spray name. I bought a spray ages ago and it didn't seem to work at all. But, I like to think now that I am off the DA's for a chunk of time that perhaps some things could still work. I know Dr. B does not agree, sadly.
Teddi, hang in there and do exactly what you are doing; keep trying and logging your response to different applications of things. I must have 10 different topicals and sprays, most of which only mildly helped and took 30 min or more to notice a difference. For some blessed reason, the Better You spray has been a miracle for me . Personally, I don't put it on before bed - rather, I spray it on the afflicted area (who knows which area/s will bother me in any given night) just when I feel it coming on. It stops the sensation within about 5 mins. and generally it doesn't come back in that area for the evening. Note: re; the CBD oil and edibles... I have to take the short and long acting as described together to work. The tincture $49. The edibles $15.
Teddi, the owner of the shop I purchase the Delta THC tincture and gummies said he would be happy to ship you products. His name is James Murrell and his shop is BeMe Natural. (321)-693-4003 james@bemenatural.com
Hi, Reb! Well, I tried the above and boy, was it great for sleep! Sadly, my rls still woke me up and so far the spray doesn’t help. You are so lucky you didn’t do the DA’s long term, as I am sure that is my problem. Are you still taking the Gaba? Wasn’t that working? Thanks again for your help. At least I got a good sleeping combo!
I am taking the Pharma GABA plus I added 3 days ago L Theanine and Dopa Mucuna right before bedtime. So far no noticeable difference; I was literally up from 11 - 5 am last night. Every time I lay back down and start to fall asleep, bamm.. the legs would alternate L or R and calf or behind my knee. I didn't sleep today; had work to do so going to try to go to bed shortly and see if I can get maybe 3-4 hrs before they start again. I'm going to have a friend give me a couple of Lunesta to try next. See if they work for the RL before I pursue a prescription. Still I've had the best luck with the Hirsuta. I did order the Therapulse but it hasn't arrived yet. The Delta 8 CBD tincture puts me to sleep within 30" but it only lasts 2 hrs and my legs start right away. Nothing seems to be effective for any length of time nor to any great degree of lessor severity.
Forgot to say. 2 x Therapulse not worked for me. Seems too fierce, even the starter level and makes me kick up to the ceiling! Can't do more than 10 mins.
Just ordered the Better You sleep bundle for next day after having no sleep at all last night and little sleep any night with RLS. Tried Kratom which was great at first but had to increase to 20 caps a night because of decreasing effectiveness! Great shame, so will try this and hope for a blessed respite from this for last 5 years, Avoided pharma drugs but taken Magnesium caps and get some relief some nights with my Restiffic foot clamps but the effect seems to be very variable.
Great that it's working! That site also has a lot of studies listed. One of them compared a vibrating pad with drugs. "Improving sleep for patients with restless legs syndrome. Part II: meta-analysis of vibration therapy and drugs approved by the FDA for treatment of restless legs syndrome." The pad was made by Sensory Medical Inc. No longer available. Eventually Medicare (US) would not pay for it as anything that vibrated was declared "a pleasure device." Too funny...and ignorant.
