Just a long shot.....

Does anyone know of this mouth spray. Benzydamine Hydrochloride 0.15% w/v Oromucosal Spray.

I have been prescribed it for a mouth ulcer and since I've been taking it, about 4 days, my RLS and myoclonus have been off the scale. Could there possibly be a connection?

I haven't found anything that says this but if your RLS got a lot worse then obviously it is the case for you.

Thanks Sue. Why oh why does so much appear to affect this condition much more than anything else it seems. When will we stumble over something that affects it in a positive way. Have stopped using the spray now to see what happens, who would have thought that something as innocuous as a mouth spray could be so detrimental!!

It could well be a part of the medication that is not the active ingredient. These are carriers or excipients which are added to give colour and taste and preservative etc.

Think of red colouring in cough syrup. Entirely unnecessary, but added in by the marketing bods, to make it look more attractive.

It may be possible to get a different formulation-- worth discussing with the pharmacist.?

Does it say 'sugar free' on the box because if it doesn't it's probably the sugar which is causing your RLS. There are sugar free versions available.

This would suggest that if you avoid sugar at other times as well your RLS will subside.
