BUPROPION

I received an email from Goodrx saying that Bupropion caused hair loss. I am loosing hair quite frequently and was wondering if anybody is having the same results. Also, if this is the cause of my hair loss, what other antidepressants will not aggravate my RLS. They are asleep right now because of the Buprenorphine and I definitely don't want to wake up that ugly monster that resides in me.

Trazodone may be an option? Also try biotin, marine collagen, folic acid, B12 and ferrous bisglycinate supplements.I lost hair on pregabalin but taking the supplements listed, my hair has now fully regrown.

Thanks Joolsg. I am getting on Amazon right now before I go bald. So if pregabalin caused hair loss, I wonder if Gabapentin might also?

It's a prescription drug

absolutecollagen.com/produc... is what I use in the UK. It has really helped. I'm sure similar products will be available in the USA.

My mistake - I meant trazodone. I will delete my other reply. Hair loss is a very rare side effect of Bupropion

yes!!!! I had no idea. I have been on bupropion for 2 years and my hair has been falling out! I bought a Capulis laser hat and have been using nioxin shampoo. No difference yet. Ugh! This damn RLS!!! We just can’t win

I got a reply that I hair loss with Bupropion was rare. Joolsg said she got all her hair back after loosing it by taking Pregablin. She took: Biotin, Marine Collagen, Folic Acid, B12, and Ferrous Bisglycinate.

You may find that because buprenorphine works so well for your RLS that you may be able to tolerate a low dose of any antidepressant. This has been my experience on Oxycontin. My depression is lifelong and moderate to severe so my doctors coordinated upping my Oxycontin a tad to cover any increased symptoms my antidepressants had. It may not be a strategy to employ for everyone but it has allowed me to try numerous antidepressants over the years with impunity. Taking one less worry off my plate. It is hard enough to find an antidepressant that works even if you don't have RLS.

Good luck.

I thought about that. I am still trying to find out if in fact Bupropion is the culprit

Good idea. Especially it's working for your depression.

If you continue to loose your hair I'd consult a derm. I'm losing mine too but not on that medication. There arr are many caused of female hair loss and often it needs to be treated through multiple approaches. Best of luck! I fully understand what it's like.
