RLS and compression socks

Hi. I suffer from severe RLS and PLMD.

I am currently on 250 pregabalin, 0.5 clonazepam and am trying to reduce from 3mg to 2mg Neupro patches .

So last night I was on two and a half Neupro patch. This was my 5th night on two and a half .I had spent the last 4 months on 3mgs

Last night, for the first time, I put on compression stockings.

I know the heart experts say it is useless wearing them at night for blood circulation purposes.

But i also now some manufacturers sell the stockings to RLS sufferers like us as having a possible benefit

I awoke as usual at around 0200 and had my usual half hour walk. I awoke again at 0400 with all limbs, arms, legs and body twitching and flailing around.

I got out of bed to try and walk and could not because I would fall over. Quite Terrifying. Nothing like this had ever happened to me before.

Eventually with the aid of two crutches i got just enough stability to start my walk.

After about 10 minutes the strong twitching and flailing began to calm down a bit. But I remained twitchy for the rest of the night.

So no more compression stockings at night for me.

Has anyone else had any negative experiences,at night, wearing these stockings?

That's awful! I tried them but they didn't work but I didn't have any adverse effects.

I'm sorry to hear that. I used compression stockings during withdrawal but didn't experience that. I suspect they cut off the blood supply and that's why you couldn't walk. Do speak to your GP to ask for help withdrawing from the Neupro patch. A low dose opioid like codeine, hydrocodeine, tramadol, oramorph or oxycodone can relieve some of the awful withdrawals. Or medical cannabis, vaped as needed.

I regularly use compression socks for breakthrough restlessness. I keep them on for a short time and it’s very effective quickly. I make sure to never fall asleep with them on as they can effect circulation.

dr. clonazepam is a bad treatment for RLS. It might be making it worse. Didn’t do good for me Check out the RLS website.
