Don't know what Jools recommended, but taking more of the magnesium citrate you've been taking could help constipation as well as potentially helping RLS. (Mg glycinate, which you're considering, supposedly has less laxative properties but Cottylotty posted just yesterday that this helped their constipation)

Lots of magnesium taken at night.I take 2 or 3 magnesium Citrate pills & they work really well.

Thank you Jules et al for your helpful comments.I will have another go with magnesium. I seem to remember Sue saying don't take magnesium within 2 hrs of taking gabapentin, so I will just take the magnesium during the day.

Ah, good point - yes magnesium does inhibit absorption of gabapentin, so if you're still taking that as well as the oxy you'll need to allow 3 hours or so leeway.

Hi there, Senokot, taken at night, is what you can get in UK. 7.5 or High Strength which is double that dose. Works very well. Good luck.

I’m on gabapentin and have been constipated. Sue recommended Triphala powder it’s an Ayurvedic herb. It does work but it is definitely an acquired taste

For constipation, Mag Citrate powder, about one teaspoon, also based upon a clinical study I found in the US, I take 1500 mg of Mag Gylcinate, along with 1/2 gram of Potassium Citrate in powder form. If you use a VPN you should be able to find the study online. I will try to see if I can find it and post it. The Mag Citrate is for constipation related to the Oxycodone that I’m prescribed to treat my RLS. If you also have PLMD, like many of us do, talk to your Dr about taking Baclofen to treat that.

This may sound strange but I stew apples & prunes in Black Cherry soda and it works for me.
