Hi Josana13. I take Kratom Red Vein Powder to help with my withdrawal from Ropinirole which I bought on line from a company in Holland. I am a bit concerned about the label on your package, not for human consumption, and I would try to contact the company just to clarify what exactly it is that you’ve purchased before trying to use it. Sorry I’m not more help but want you to keep safe.
Best wishes HipHop 1972
Thank you for that. I already started taking it and it worked. I'm Definitely going to find out why it says not for human consumption. God bless
Borneo Reserve Red Vein Kratom and other kratom is usually marked 'not for human consumption' and/or 'for research purposes only'. This is apparently aimed to get around the US FDA's view that "When marketed as a dietary ingredient, FDA considers kratom to be a new dietary ingredient for which there is inadequate information to provide reasonable assurance that such ingredient does not present a significant or unreasonable risk of illness or injury". It is advisedly illegal to buy/use as a medication/ in some countries (including the UK) and I believe in some US states. (At least it was when I looked into this a few years ago).
Chris, I ordered the Kratom from Amazon. I looked at one of those companies you recommended and can't figure out which Kratom to order. What to do...
I took 5 of the Borneo Reserve the first night and it worked wonderfully. The next evening I took 4 then two more an hour later and nothing. Hasn't worked since. WhaT to do?
I'm not a kratom user so can't explain this from experience.
I suggest you read this:

Dougg - can you advise based on your experience?
I use the Kratom red mengda capsules . I take six of the capsules for my RLS. It works incredibly well…within twenty minutes. As the other gentleman said it’s labeled not for human consumption because it’s not FDA approved. I’ve been using it for several years. If you read the side affects of all the medication that is provided and prescribed for RLS you would be very apprehensive to use any of it. My pain management doctor found out I was using it because it came up in the urine screen. She said if it works that she didn’t have a problem with it. It works. It beats a lot of the alternatives.
I ordered the Kratom from Amazon. Is there a safer place to order it?
I can vouch for "mitragaia.com/" if you're in the US or Canada. I've used them for years. Quality and honest. I don't receive anything for this recommendation.
Where do you get the Kratom and what is the name of it?
it’s sold in every smoke shop in every city and in most states .. very abundant. I use the red mengda. It’s not FDA approved so it says not safe for human consumption. I don’t know if it’s any worse than opiates are on your organs.. not a doctor. I know it works in twenty minutes and totally stops my RLS. I’ve suffered almost my entire adult life. I don’t feel any kind of high or feeling of euphoric thinking. It just works for me…quickly and easily..unlike pramiprexel. I just started taking gabapentin. I’m hopeful this will give me some relief and I can take a break from the Kratom.. just to give my system a break. Nothing is good to take for long. Just my opinion
I get mine online, Goldenmonk. The red vein varieties are best for rls and sleep. I've use it for over 5 years, notice I'm having morning depression of late if I use too much. I dissolve a tsp in a cup of sleepy time tea, take swallows of it throughout the night. Tastes terrible, put some honey in it, warm water, then put it bedside, a swallow before sleeping.
have tried several varieties and it does nothing. I don't understand
Where do you purchase your Kratom?
every corner smoke shop in the US sells it. You can purchase it online as well. I use the Red Mengda Kratom. I’ve used it for several years without any adverse effects. I only take it at night…6 capsules and it works within 20 minutes. If my restless leg has become active the nerves go back to normal..it’s incredible. If you google it there are articles who will slam the use..big pharmaceutical is totally against it just as they are against CBD oil as they cannot profit from it. I suppose if you drank Kratom tea all day and ingested tablets all day it would be harmful …common sense Says everything in moderation…sugar can kill you if you take much. Everything in moderation.. good luck
Hello Josana13. Sometimes, kratom use may lead to severe breathing issues, liver damage, kidney failure, seizures, coma and death. Between July 2016 and December 2017, it played a role in at least 91 overdose fatalities, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Please be careful.

I have had great success for over three years using kratom to control RLS symptoms. To focus back on your original question, I would encourage you to use kratom from a trusted vendor, preferably one who uses good manufacturing principles (such vendors can be found here: americankratom.org/gmp-qual.... Then, test with a very small amount - e.g., 1/4 teaspoon of powdered kratom - to see how your body reacts. The idea is to slowly increase the dose until it resolves your RLS symptoms, so that you're using the very least amount that will do the job.
Fidgetfeet has cited information from the CDC, and I would encourage you to read the entire article, which can be found here: cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/68/wr/.... Importantly, note that the article states, "Postmortem toxicology testing detected multiple substances for almost all decedents (Table)." The problem has been that some kratom products have been spiked with other dangerous substances, such as fentanyl, and those substances have been the source of serious dangers. By contrast, scientific reports suggest that the risks associated with pure kratom are relatively low. For example, see the first six pages of this independent report on kratom by PinneyAssociates: assets.website-files.com/61...
That said, everyone's body is different, and the important key is how your body reacts to kratom and whether it helps you without any significant side effects. Ensuring you have a pure product and then testing with small amounts are two important safety factors.
Wishing you all the best on your healing journey.
Dougg, thank you so much for all of the fantastic information. I have a question, The package of my Kratom said "not for human consumption". Do u know c if others are thinking g this?
Josana13 - It could be that the vendor really means what they wrote - that is, their kratom isn't cleaned or pure enough for human consumption - or it could be that they just added that statement to avoid any potential liability. I don't know.
"or it could be that they just added that statement to avoid any potential liability." That and the fact they think they can sell to countries where it's illegal such as the UK and to several US states such as Wisconsin (where it's been illegal since 2014, and last I heard was still illegal despite petitions to decriminalise). In some places it's illegal to buy it; in others it's just illegal for 'human consumption'.
Dougg, I ordered the Crampton from Amazon. I looked through the vendors you sent and can't figure out which Kratom to order. Can I order the same one you have?
Hi Dougg, Is it better to get the tablets or the powder?
It’s a personal choice. The powder will almost certainly be less expensive than capsules, because you’re paying for the cost of someone putting it into capsule form. In my experience, kratom doesn’t taste very good, sort of like an extreme Matcha green tea, so if you have trouble with the taste, capsules might be a better choice. I ended up purchasing a capsule maker, particularly to make it easier to take when I was traveling. The advantage of powder is that it probably absorbs faster into your system, because it doesn’t have to wait for a capsule to melt. When I take the powder, I mixed it in hot water and added vanilla, stevia, and sometimes cream to make the flavor a little more tolerable.
Josana13 - I have always ordered my kratom from happyhippoherbals.com. They were recommended to me by someone years ago on this site and I've been very pleased with their products and their service.
Kratom comes in a wide range of strains. Interestingly, the range is from relaxing to energizing. Some strains are very calming, while others are very stimulating, like coffee. Happy Hippo Herbals organizes the strains they sell into categories: slow, medium, and fast. Personally, I've found that most of the slow strains work well for my RLS, along with a few of the medium strains. Because I'm trying to calm my RLS symptoms, I want something that's calming. I started with Red Dragon Bali, and that worked well.
If you're going to use kratom a lot, I highly recommend that you rotate strains in order to avoid building up tolerance. After finding that Red Dragon Bali worked, I began experimenting with the other strains and found the ones that worked best for me. Then I began rotating those so that I wasn't taking only one strain continuously.
Hope this helps.
