I have been on 0.088mg for 6 years and gabapentin for 5 years. I have suffered augmentation for several years and have decided to wean myself off. I am crushing 3/4 off the tablet and dissolving in water. It is only day 3 but withdrawal hasn’t been too bad. Has anyone any advice to offer me. I will stay on gabapentin for now.

Weaning off pramipexole
You are doing a great job. Keep going as you are.If you get a set back just go back a step to allow your body to get used to the new stage.
Keep up with good food, juices and nutrients. Vit c is helpful. But any multivitamin will be good.
Avoid magnesium ( in any form)within 3 hrs of the Gabapentin.
Have a treat every now and again for your success!
Okay thanks, I’ll give that a go
I'm on your path Carolinetidy, except with pramipexole, I am supposed to reduce by half a pill once a fortnight, thanks to Manerva.I am cutting down by half every three weeks (Because it helps my memory, LOL).
my next "cut" is on 20th
One thing I've learned is to listen to Manerva, you cannot go wrong.
I just came off from pramipexole (0.128mg) after taking it for 5 to 7 years. I've cut the pills in half and started 0 after 4 weeks. It was then when my body decided it's pay back time. Two terrible weeks. I have not taken any other medication or supplements during that time. I also reduced caffeine to a single cup of coffee in the morning.
I still owe the community a good write-up of my experience. After the first two horrible weeks without prescription, I started feeling better. The fourth week at 0, I actually felt like reborn. My RLS is pretty much gone and when I feel something like RLS, I can easily stretch it away. It might not even be RLS.
I lost my appetite for coffee and I get very sleepy right after lunch and need to take a nap sometimes.
5th week without pramipexole and I think it will take another couple months to get a solid sleep cycle.
Bottom line, those two horrible weeks were worth it.
Good luck! I made sure my colleagues and family knew what's going on. I was not able to work during the first two weeks at 0 and I'm glad my employer was understanding.
And kudos to my dog who helped me through this, always on my side.
