I just want to mention that there is something that is free and super easy to learn and drug free, that may be helpful, at least as an adjunct to everything we are taking. I have been doing this for a while now in the evenings, preferably before bed. It doesn't always help, but I am sticking with it since it does often make a positive difference, and it is the only thing out of the million things I have tried, that helps. There are many practitioners who have videos on youtube. They are not all the same. The one I like the most is Julie Schiffman, and the reason why I mention her is because she has several videos on sleep problems, and one one specifically on RLS.

However, there is no scientific evidence to back up the self tapping technique.
If it is a placebo-- that is fine- it works!
Generally, any distracting activity seems to give temporary relief for RLS.

_Hi, apologies, but I would not agree with this statement. I would kindly suggest you investigate the science behind EFT, including ramdommized studies, etc. For this, you may want to start with the Dawson church' tapping manual....and this overview;....chi.is/systems-mapping-reso... moreover,by the way, in so.many cases ( antidepressant, for instance) would there be any difference between placebo and real medication? It looks so not in my opinion. Big pharma looks strugling with this issue theses days...

_ For a quite sometime I have been reluctant to emphasizes this point in my replies here, since my successfull results (for some 2.0 continuous years now) with my RLS crises, especially the one that used to bother me most, in the middle of the night. by 3 to , or 6 am;
_ I must say though, my approach is complemented with 0.4 mg of Clonazepam (not sure if I need it; yet I have got success without it, likewise, I am stopping it currently and checking again), and rigorous sleep hygiene, including sleeping splitted in two phase most of the nights, with in interval of some 60 to 90 minutes in the early morning, just following night reccurrent crises, staying in bed from some midnight up 9;00 am, with net sleep time of some 7;00 hours;
_ It looks my approach allows me sometimes go up to one week without need of performing EFT. This is used to stopp crises, within maximum 15 minutes, like this fellow example downhere below...

_ I would suggest you go deeper, deeper, deeper on literature on EFT , maybe start by Reading Dawson church's books, Clinical manual, the two websites ( EFT universe and emofree)...
_ on the you tube, Would suggest you only videos from church, Gary Craig, and Stephen gonick..... however, there is no specific video on RLS, from these three masters (ser their websites for this)....No cake receipt for everybody.... You would have to study the basic principles, and very soon, you are going to be able to create what Works best for you.... this search is wonderful on itself!!
_ energy medicine is a large world. Particularly, to not get Lost, and because the amazing Results I had already reached (not only for RLS....so many other issues), I decided to focus on EFT (use it daily, for everything physical and/or emotional), Pranic Healing ( from Stephen Co and Eric Robbins, MD; Stephen's videos summarizes better what is in the book), and minor Pieces of Donna Eden's Energy Medicine (too deep and complex, not practical, maybe)...

Thank you so much for this tip. I have tried EFT many times for other things and I never felt that it helped and I gave up frustrated and hating this technique. But I watched the video of Julie Schiffman today and I have to sayy it touched me. If it helps ease my Symptoms or not, it will help me deal with it better and I think there will be some reflection processes starting if I do this a couple of times.
Even though it is a very simple technique, it is important at first to do it with a practitioner. I do it every day; in the morning to start my day more positively, in the evening for sleep. It doesn't always work as I would like it to, but I keep it up because I am getting something out of it. With all the different practitioners on youtube, you can chose whom you like best. I have a couple of practitioners right now, and Julie Schiffman is one of them. She has tapping sequences practically for everything.
I will definitely give it a try!
_ from my experience EFT never fails; but it is not miracle; demands some effort and persistence in many cases. What may happen in physical symptoms (such as pain, RLS, etc) is one reach a certain minimum plateau. As with all energy/information technique, nobody knows the correct needed "dosage"; therefore overdo may be interesting in some cases.
For my RLS I always, since two years ago, I have complete success, Just by doing the Full receipt + one thing I call love bath (based on Dona Eden's Energy Medicine). And, when very rarely needed, + Pranic Sweeping. 15 to 20 minutes for everything! Wonderful results, and things to see!! Going from desperation to complete quiteness and back to sleep (sometimes more EFT here , for elimination of worries on back to sleep, etc)

_ for all those interested in EFT, my first and foremost recomendation would be read the Dawson church's tapping manual, as well his vídeos, and Gary Craig's vídeos.Will see exist the basic receipt (some 9 accupoints) and the full receipt: basic+some more 10 points, repeated, and having in between, sandwiched, the 9 Gamut procedure.

Thank you. I did some research and realized that I already know the technique from a former therapy that I did 15 years ago. I was not aware that it is the „real“ EFT method. So I am quite familiar with this and I will definitely dive deeper into it the next days. Super thankful for the reminder of this technique
_ ok...try It, however study first on sublte energy/information.... everything become more convincing, science based....and flexible, self practice, no need of thirds.

Hi Happy, I use it a lot for insomnia and anxiety. There is also a TFT which I am going to try out with a practitioner. I find it helpful, though it does not take away the problem.
Who knows, it might even take away the problem one day?! I already experienced some changes in my thinking because of my EFT practice. In my specific case there is a lot of unspecific anxiety which slowly but surely gets specific through that progress of consciousness caused by EFT. And if it is specific I can start to work on it. I am far away of a RLS healing of course, but still hoping 😉😬

_ this is my receipt, maximum some 25 minutes about to perform everything. It is amazing the results (back to sleep peaccifully after 3 - 4 00 am...still wake up for other reasons such nightmares)!!! very happy, life saver techniques.

Hi, Maximus01_ apologies for kind of hijacking your post to keep talking on EFT and other energy techniques for RLS. I like to concentrate discussions;
_ these techniques have been working sactifactorily for me, since I discovered them some 2 years ago, not only to stop (always and easily) my main RLS somewhere between som 3:00 and 4;30 am, but also for a number of other stuffs, emotional and physical. My techniques are science-based, evidence based, and, of course, include some Clonazepam (0.3 mg, 3 drops) currently, which somehow aids something; rigorous sleep hygiene, avoidance of caffeine after 12;00 pm; no alchool; no worries about iron, I know ferritine it is around 50 to 70; low sugar in general.
_ I am about to illustrate some of my nights with waveforms derived from my all-night-used bilevel CPAP; need only some available time;
_ pretty much all days I took a quick look on new posts here: what a suffering, non tailored medications, non working medications, augmentations, attempt to new approaches!!; very frustrating !
_ I will stay here for while, not trying to convince anybody of anything, bu rather just to let know fellow sufferers on the availability of those techniques. Only things demanded: good knowledge on them, reading on two blogs, some two books to start with and practicing and practing;
_ however, before all: one need A VERY GOOD DIAGNOSTIC on possible comorbid issues, mainly sleep disorder breathing ( very often come together RLS). I my modes opinion, yes, RLS might be a neurologic, genetic problem (mine started when I was some 7 year old). Yet what does it mean? how to treat? nobody knows!
_ therefore, any approach it works, it is OK. I am very luck and very happy to have struck with those techniques.
