RLS temporary relief found

I found RLS temporary relief from a topical vaporizing rub. I am currently using Equate brand vaporizing rub. It contains Menthol, Camphor , and Eucalyptus oil. If I am experiencing RLS or forgot to take my medication on time, I rub this on both legs from top to bottom. Works in less than one minute. I generally walk around for a couple of minutes after applying. This really does work for me. I believe it is the Menthol, but can't be sure. It seems to last a long time, at least until my medications kick in. The aroma is strong, but well worth it. I highly recommend this. It really does work for me.

Yep i use a sports rub here in the UK called Deep Freeze either sprayor gel it only helps if my RLS is not raging doesn’t last through the night but does give temporary relief and it is the menthol that works seems to numb the sensations and yes it’s a bit smelly mine doesn’t have camphor which is a strong smell

Yep, this is known as "counter stimulation". Usually this is used for pain relief and/or as a decongestant.

Numerous brands of this incl "tiger balm" or "olbas oil"

It can be great for temporary relief of symptoms.

You have to like the smell though, which I do.

Sounds good, I bought some cream from H&B and I find that very good too, it’s especially for tired heavy legs and restless legs , works for me👍

Hi 1jay - I suffer neuropathy in feet and ankles with burning pain which can be severe. Vicks vapour rub (which you can use for rubbing on your chest for a cold) is supposed to help with this. Lots of people recommend this on the internet. I have used it but I find that keeping my feel cool when in bed helps both the RLS and the neuropathy. As others say you have to like the aroma which I don't mind and it makes the skin on your feet nice and soft!!
