Just found this page and wonder if any else does the same. I only tend to get restless when tired no matter how much I do during the day, etc etc. When trying to sleep and being unsuccessful I crouch beside the bed until my legs go to sleep. When they wake they feel relaxed, thus allowing me to sleep.
Anyone else find this?

Hi yes I have heard of that before, I tried it but for some reason my legs won't "go to sleep " lol . Glad it works for you though. Pipps x
Yes i do this sometimes, but in bed, i kneel back on my legs til they go to sleep then i lay down while my legs are numb which is what the legs asleep is and sleep. The pins and needles when they come too is not nice tho.
I am in a position now that I got stuck taken oxycodone clamazapain I am scared I've had this condition at 7 years old and my family well dad brother had RLS , When I was younger I kicked the wall so hard but the pain of that took the RLS away , my heart breaks because my kids have it , I'm so sorry for you and ever one who has this condition, wish we all could go on a walk to no 10 to get help and understand, glad it works for you but sad to that you have to do that
Never tried it but I will. Another thing that totally works is getting in the hot tub for 20 minutes. I know everyone doesn't have a hot tub, but if you do... totally works. (Hot baths and showers work too.)
Khills, Although temporary, showers do work for me. I had 4 last night and it somehow relaxed me. I also hang on to a bar and exercise in the shower. Unfortunately showers can work in a contrary direction and make some sufferers more awake.
Great to see that it totally works for you khills but for the majority of RLS sufferers a hot shower/bath/hot tub only helps temporarily and for some does not help at all.
I do exactly what Elisse does. Kneel back on my legs to make them numb. Only works sometimes though as if the twitches are really bad they still make me bounce up. Someone should invent a contraption that puts pressure on our legs by moving up and down while we're asleep.

Yes i do this but I also rock from side to side as this seems to help
The only thing that helps me is to walk barefoot up and down the kitchen on the cold tiles. I have tried every medicinal avenue going and because I have a pair of knees that don't bend properly (it's impossible for me to crouch due to lots of old footballing injuries), I couldn't try to bend them to make my legs go to sleep so trudging up and down it is (I once walked over 3 miles just in the kitchen). I've just resigned myself to suffering this for the rest of my life.
