Has anyone tried the anti platelet medication, dipyridamole for the rls? Dipyridamole is supposed to reduce motor and sensory symptoms of RLS and improve sleep duration. It supposed to have therapeutic effect on adenosinergic pathways in the pathophysiology of rls. Thanks advance for your reply.

Dr B is not impressed about this drug and it increases the chance of bleeding.
Hi, yes it's currently used as an anticoagulant so precautions have to be taken.
There's also no guidance on the dose which I imagine would be less than as an anticoagulant.
You'd have to consider as an "experimental" drug. It hasn't yet, as far as I know been through clinical trials for RLS. That's possibly why Dr B's not impressed.
Did you read the study Arjiji described?
I can't advise you one way or the other about it. You could discuss it with your Dr. They may just say no.
Extremely valuable data! Many thanks, halperinchen. I gave up on GPs early in my experiences of PLMD and I've project managed the condition ever since. Having pretty much come to the end of the across the board medication options and struggling now on a second go at Gabapentin (just reached 900mg), I was warming up towards a request for full THC cannabis treatment. Whilst many anecdotal accounts and just one clinical study suggest efficacy, I'm now minded to propose first Dipyridamole as a course of action. Again, my thanks for this excellent profiling of our distressing and debilitating condition.
